Great Job, Tumtum!
Our youngest learners, Tumtum preschool students, had a chance to showcase their learning at their first Celebration of Learning! This group has been especially fascinated with all things construction, so Teacher Sarah followed their lead and provided opportunities for exploration and play! For their performance, the preschool students showcased multiple types of welders, and they took their families around the classroom space to show them work they created as part of their Three Little Pigs story study, completed with a diorama and journal pages about their favorite parts of the stories. We're proud of you, Tumtummers!
Coming Soon!
Gardner Market is Monday 2/27

Gardner Market is just a few weeks away on February 27th at 1:30 pm, and we know students are already working on building up their supply of projects to sell! This is also a good time to have a chat with your child about how much they should be charging for their products. While many students have already made decisions on what to charge, they are welcome to make changes to the price of their products throughout the market.

Families are encouraged to attend and shop at our Gardner Market! Many fantastic products have been created by our students, and it's a wonderful way to see our whole community together. Invite your friends, neighbors, and grandparents to join us!

Pricing and Purchasing
Payment Process

Our student population is limited to $20 (please send the money in $1 bills if possible) per student for money to bring to the market. Please make sure your child's money is in a secure place and clearly labeled with their name. Children will be in charge of their own purchases and tracking of spending while at the market.

Our kindergarten and 1st grade students will likely need more parent support in managing their funds. Not able to attend? Please let your child's teacher know so we can make sure a grown-up buddy is available for them!

Vendor Booth Details for 2nd-6th Grade Students
Your Child's Booth Should Include:

1. An Open and Closed sign. Students like to "close" their booth for a short time to do their own shopping!

2. A sign clearly advertising their product and the cost of their items.

3. If selling a food idea, clear packaging with allergens listed.

4. All money handling teaching and store "cash register" will be set up with the support of teachers.

The votes are in!
Our K-6 students voted for the local non-profit they wanted to support with their Gardner Market proceeds, and for the second year they are choosing to support Second Chance Companions! This local group supports animals and their owners in a variety of ways, and a recent house fire seriously damaged their organization's ability to care for the most in-need animals. Last year, our students raised over $1300 for their group, and we hope to meet or beat that amount this year!
Move Up Days

Don't forget this week we're hosting parents for an opportunity to see the next classroom space and to ask questions about what that next step looks like. Our K-6 classrooms are hosting parents at the times below, and a Mazama visit for our current Tumtum families will be scheduled soon!
