Amy Kurtz visit

Mrs. Amy Kurtz will be visiting Faith Lutheran on February 17-19. She will be accompanied by her mother Sarah, and daughters Emma and Penelope. We plan to welcome them to our school on Friday. They will be worshiping with us on Sunday morning. Mrs. Kurtz and her family will be moving from Illinois by mid-June. She will assume her principal position here on June 19. Mrs. Kurtz and I are communicating frequently to ensure a smooth transition and successful principal tenure for her. Please continue to keep the Kurtz family in your prayers.

70th Wedding Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Richard DeVries

January 24, 1953, was big day for Dick DeVries.  He was baptized, confirmed, and married all on the same day. The picture to the right was taken in their home on their 70th anniversary.

Dick and Shirley, we join with you in thanksgiving to God for His hand that brought you together, His daily grace and mercies that were new every morning, and for these past 70 years God of His blessing and your joy together as husband and wife.

Thanks for being an example to follow both in your marriage together and in your faith life in Jesus Christ.

'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? 6  So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." Matthew 19:5-6 (NIV)

May the LORD continue to pour out His blessing on your life together as husband and wife.
It's not too late to join us!

We'll take a break this week and join the multi-generational Bible study in the cafeteria.

Lori Lambert will be leading this study

Multi-Generational Family Bible Study
Sunday, February 12

We are having our second of three planned multi-generational family Bible studies in the cafeteria between services on Sunday, February 12. We hope to have the children, youth, parents, and adults together for Sunday school. Our first class in January was quite informative and enjoyable with robust participation by all. Families will be joined at their study tables by other members of the congregation.

Come join us for some food, fellowship, learning, and fun. Drinks and treats time goes from 9:10 to 9:30 AM and again from 10:30 to 10:50 AM. The family Bible study goes from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.

Currently our children and adults are studying the same Enduring Faith Bible study curriculum on Sunday mornings. It traces God’s plan of salvation throughout the entire Bible—pointing students to Jesus, their Savior.

The lesson in week 6 on February 12 is “Hope in Hardship.” The account of Jacob’s favorite son, Joseph occupies a turning point in the history of God’s people. The unusual timeline of Joseph’s life includes him being despised by his brothers, being sold into slavery, attaining success and then losing it all to false accusations, being imprisoned, and serving in the court of Pharaoh. Joseph summarizes his life in one sentence addressed to his brothers, “You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good.”

By studying God’s Word together, we show that Jesus has called us to a lifelong journey of learning with Him and that, in Christ, we have unity in His promises, love and forgiveness. Parents may also take home some ideas to help carry on biblical discussions with their children throughout the week.

If you have comments or would like more information, please contact Ward Irvin (adults,

Pastor Nominations

A reminder that February 19th at noon is the deadline for Faith members to submit nominations for our next pastor.  The paper form for you to use is available in the Narthex with a cover letter attached that explains how to complete the form. Please read the instructions carefully and place the completed form in the box.
Also, please continue to be in prayer throughout this process as we ask the Holy Spirit to provide guidance, wisdom, and discernment to our congregation members, the pastors who will be considered for a call, our District President and Circuit Visitor, and the call committee. We also pray blessings for Pastor Schneider and his family during this time of transition in their lives.
