Sunday January 29, 2023 - Reconciling in Christ

If you were here in worship a few weeks back, you heard me reflect a bit in my sermon on the life and work of Martin Luther King Jr. – His passion and non-violent activism… His protests and marches… His sermons and speeches… His dream – that all people, created equal by God the creator, would be treated as such…

This weekend, we celebrate Reconciling In Christ weekend – always the last weekend in January. A time, set aside by Reconciling Works, for Reconciling in Christ congregations like St. James, to share in the commitment of the ongoing work of welcome and inclusion to those who have been marginalized… To dream a bit for ourselves of a world where the image of God was seen in all… While not limited to, careful attention given to those part of the LGBTQIA+ community, who for far too long, in too many places, have been ostracized and worse – told that they are somehow less than equal, less than worthy, because of who they are on the inside, because of who they love…

You can continue reading the sermon on our blog. Or if you’re more into videos, you can watch our livestream from Sunday! This link will start in the middle of the service at the children’s sermon.

We look forward to seeing you next week!
