After 30 Issues, CXLV Bids Farewell to the Newsroom
As of January 27, all former members of vol. CXLV including Upper Management, Editors, and Managers have officially departed the Newsroom. Members of CXLV's Upper Management reflected on the return to consistent in-person meetings for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, while members of the incoming Upper Management shared their goals for The Phillipian, vol. New Deputy Head of School Merilee Mardon Announced 
In the 2023-2024 school year, Merilee Mardon will serve as Andover's Deputy Head of School, succeeding Raj Mundra in his current role as Interim Deputy Head of School. Mardon currently holds the position of Associate Head of School and Dean of Faculty at HotchkissClick here to read more about Mardon's previous experience with students and her goals for Andover.

Girls Basketball Wins One, Loses One; Co-Captain Kennedy Herndon ’23 Surpasses 1,000 Career Points
Co-Captain Kennedy Herndon '23 makes the 1000th point of their Andover career this past weekend, leading to the win against Kimball Union Academy. As one of the few athletes that has ever achieved this goal, Herndon expresses her gratitude towards others on the team. Andover lost to Brooks later on Wednesday. Boys Indoor Track and Field Places Second in Lowerclassmen Meet at Exeter
Boys Track took all lowerclassmen runners to a meet against Phillips Academy Exeter (Exeter), Governor's, Marianapolis, and Wilbraham & Monson over this past weekend. Andover placed second in the event, closely behind Exeter. With only ninth and tenth graders participating in the event, the competition and intensity of the races differed from other usual meets. A capella, Slam Poetry, Rock, and More: Abbot Cabaret 2023 Arouses Audience Engagement Through Variety of Student Performances
Last Friday, students showcased various talents such as slam poetry, acapella, and comedy at the 2023 Abbot Cabaret. Audience members gathered at Kemper Auditorium to celebrate their peers' performances. Click here to read more about the show.

The Andover Edition Organizes “The Bassment” Dance at Paresky Commons 
Phillips Academy's student-run fashion publication, the Andover Edition, organized the Bassment Dance in Lower Right of Paresky Commons. Attendees experimented with various all-black outfits, danced to the DJ's music, and took photos with their friends. Click here to read more about the dance and how it was planned.

COMMENTARY
Letter to the Administration: Free Laundry for All
Student leaders for the Free Laundry for All Campaign address the administration to explain why they push for free laundry on campus. The group argues that laundry costs "presents a major barrier to accessing a basic necessity," and in order to fulfill Andover's motto of non sibi, we must make laundry free to equalize the burden for students of all socioeconomic classes. Click here to read their full article.
