Town Hall & Community Meeting, Saturday morning, Feb 11, with Representative Omari Crawford and Guest Speakers Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson & MARTA

Please join Representative Omari Crawford and me for a legislative and community town hall on Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 9:30 – 11 a.m. at the South DeKalb Senior Center in Decatur at 1931 Candler Rd, Decatur, GA 30032.

We will discuss legislative issues of the 2023 session, including the state budget, housing, education and public safety. We will also share DeKalb County legislative priorities.

DeKalb County Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson and representatives of MARTA will also participate in the meeting to discuss housing and transportation updates along the Candler Road corridor. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and share their concerns with us.

I am delighted to return to in-person town hall meetings in the vibrant Candler Corridor community, and to be hosting this with my new colleague, Rep Crawford.  I am also excited to announce I am working to increase DeKalb County’s senior homestead tax exemptions that have not changed in more than 30 years so that seniors can age in place.

“As a freshman legislator, I am excited to work with the DeKalb County Legislative Delegation and our local officials to move our community forward,” said Rep. Crawford.
