Happy New Year!
In this first newsletter of 2023, we wish to reflect on the work we did in 2022 and to thank you for your support all through the year.

Last year, we made significant progress in our objective to provide equitable access to quality and affordable healthcare for all Nigerians. We officially launched the Adopt-A-Healthcare Facility Programme (ADHFP) and revitalized two Primary Healthcare Centers (PHCs), one each in Katagum Local Government Area (LGA) of Bauchi State and Ika South Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State. We also received generous commitments to the tune of N11.9 billion from ADHFP Partners for the revitalization of 119 PHCs in several states across the country.

To fully operationalize the revitalized PHCs, we have recruited key talents in Monitoring and Evaluation and Financial Accounting. We are currently recruiting Health Workers for the PHCs in  Ika South LGA and Katagum LGA. We hope to improve the quality of service provision and improve healthcare outcomes by increasing staff strength in key areas in both facilities.

Because we focus on sustainability of our programmes, we documented learning points from the assessment, community engagement, development, and flag-off phases of the revitalised PHCs. These learning points are valuable resources to draw from as we scale up our efforts to revitalise an additional 18 PHCs this year. The support and encouragement we have received from existing and new partners is invaluable.

At the climax of the year, we were successfully onboarded on GlobalGiving – the leading global fundraising platform for non-profits. This is a monumental step forward as we take on the revitalization of the next batch of PHCs. Friends in diaspora can support the ADHFP with donations via GlobalGiving.
Every year, GlobalGiving organises an annual gathering of its partners across the world. The ADHFP Team will be participating in this year’s GlobalGiving Gathering event, joining non-profit leaders from across the globe to share upcoming opportunities to fundraise, learn, and connect. The global event also offers an opportunity to reflect on collective challenges facing the non-profit community, and to proffer solutions to them.

We recognize that the work we do at ADHFP is not a sprint, it requires the support of like-minded partners who believe in our vision to provide equitable access to quality and affordable healthcare for all. We are grateful to everyone who supported us in 2022 and looks forward to an even more impactful 2023.
