February Newsletter for Saskatchewan Aviation Museum

Dear Members and Friends of the Museum,

February is a big month at the museum, and we are trying some new events.  Check them out!

Volunteer of the Month:  Jason Gillespie has been very active at our museum doing many things such as cleaning, organizing artifacts, moving aircraft around, ramp duties, tours, and much more.  In this picture he is assisting with the early stages of installation of the main rotor on our Bell 206B helicopter.  Thank you, Jason, for the time you spend with us sharing our passion for aviation.

Family Day Monday February 20: Our Family Day Event is coming so tell your friends!  We want the world to know about us. This will be one time family event.  We will be open on Family Day Monday in February.  Watch for us on Television.  People can step back in time and a take a break from inflation to try something new.  $5.00 gets you and your family in the door on Family Day.  This price is also good for individuals.  You can bring your family or bring yourself for only $5.00!  Everyone is welcome.  Members get in free.

Burgers and Beer:   Would you like to taste some beer samples from Great Western Brewery?  Ten bucks gets you a hamburger, 2 five-ounce samples of beer or a can of pop, and a bag of chips.  Additional beer will be available for an extra charge.  Bring a group of friends for this supper event and sample some beer together.  Watch for this to be announced in an upcoming bulletin.  Limited seating.

New Tiger Moth Raffle:  Tickets are $20.00 each or three for $50.00.  This is your chance to win a Tiger Moth tour flight over the city of Saskatoon.  You can sit back and enjoy the excitement of an open cockpit flight experience in an authentic 1942 Biplane from the World War two era.  Buy a ticket and you might get to see how the early Top Guns learned to fly! Call us or drop in to purchase.

Tiger Moth Pilots:  Do you have experience flying tailwheel type aircraft?  Do you have experience on the Tiger Moth?  We are once again looking for new Tiger Moth Pilots to begin training soon.  If you think you may be interested, then let me know.  All previous Tiger Moth Captains and Training Pilots are welcome back.  Contact me at beikel@saskaviation.ca.
See you at the Hangar!

Sincerely

Brian Eikel
