Brighter Futures Acting Project Lead Visits Target Beneficiaries, Other in Edo State
Brighter Futures Acting Project lead, Dr. Bob Arnot was in Benin City from 1st – 3rd February 2023, to evaluate the status of the Brighter Future Project in Edo and Bayelsa States. The visit also created the opportunity to meet with various stakeholders involved in the implementation of the project such as the ANEEJ team, Crime Prevention Steering Group (CPSG), Crime Prevention Partnership (CPP), delivery partners, and target beneficiaries to discuss the prevent structure in the two project states. The Brighter Futures project is currently supporting 15 target beneficiaries by providing alternative pathways in terms of livelihood/vocational skills in different fields such as leather work, agriculture, auto mechanic and others.

ANEEJ Engages Federal Ministry of Justice to discuss SCALE Project Anti-Corruption Cluster's Report
On Tuesday 17th January 2023, ANEEJ Deputy Executive Director, Mr. Leo Atakpu led the SCALE project Anti-corruption cluster to meet with the Special Adviser to the President on Justice Reforms, International Asset Recovery and International Relations, Mrs. Juliet Ibekaku-Nwagwu. The meeting took place at the Federal Ministry of Justice, Abuja and the purpose was to present the cluster's draft report on the implementation of GFAR and London Anti-corruption Summit commitments in Nigeria, for discussion. The SA to the President welcomed the visiting team and commended the effort put into the report. She also provided preliminary feedback and made a commitment to be part of the policy dialogue scheduled for a later date, when the report will be discussed in detail with other stakeholders.

ANEEJ Holds Dialogue on the Implementation of GFAR and London Anti-Corruption Summits Commitments in Nigeria
As part of the implementation of Nigeria-SCALE (Strengthening Civic Advocacy and Local Engagement) project, the ANEEJ-led Anti-corruption cluster organised a Policy Dialogue on the implementation of the Global Forum on Asset Recovery (GFAR) and London Anti-corruption Summit commitments in Nigeria, on 31st January 2023. The purpose of the dialogue was to present the Anti-corruption cluster's draft report to stakeholders for discussion. Present at the meeting were delegations from Open Government Partnership National Secretariat, Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), Federal Ministry of Justice, Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), National Orientation Agency (NOA), Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), CSOs and Journalists. Brighter Futures Project: CPSG and CPP Approve Second Intervention Proposal for Edo and Bayelsa States
As part of the implementation of the Brighter Futures project, members of the Crime Prevention Steering Group (CPSG) and Crime Prevention Partnership (CPP) in Edo and Bayelsa States met and approved the second intervention proposal for target beneficiaries. The second intervention is scheduled to commence in February 2023, targeting 215 vulnerable youths in four communities across four Local Government Areas in both states, with focus on resilience building fused with recreational activities.
