British-Tunisian AI Startup InstaDeep Gets Acquired by Germany's BioNTech for $682M
InstaDeep, led by Endeavor Entrepreneur Karim Beguir, was acquired for $682M by German vaccine maker BioNTech. InstaDeep delivers AI products and solutions for the enterprise sector globally, with offices in London, Paris, Tunis, Nairobi, and Lagos. Together, the two companies will speed up biotech research and manufacturing capabilities. |

MENA-based Tabby Raises $58M From Sequoia Capital India, PayPal Ventures, Endeavor Catalyst, and Others
Buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) startup Tabby raised $58M at $660M valuation, in a round led by Sequoia Capital India and STV, and joined by PayPal Ventures, Endeavor Catalyst, and others. The funding will be used to expand Tabby’s product line into a plethora of consumer financial services and support the company’s growing operations that now include Egypt. |

Startup highlights
- Kubeark, a company founded by UiPath alumni to roll out an automation-based solution for cloud infrastructure management, raised $2.8M in a pre-seed round.
- Romanian company Vatis Tech, developing AI-based voice recognition technologies, raised a new €600K funding round, led by Early Game Venture, Sparking Capital, and angel investor Malin Stefanescu.

The first Series A of the year was raised by US-HQed pet tech Digitail. The company raised over €10M in a round led by European VC Atomico.
