On Tues., Jan. 24, Lincoln Trail ADD hosted the inaugural Legislative Breakfast and welcomed elected officials and community stakeholders from across the region. The meeting allowed leaders to discuss some of their top legislative priorities based on the unique needs of their respective communities. Participants heard from two local Kentucky legislators - State Rep. Samara Heavrin (KY-18) and State Sen. Stephen Meredith (KY-5) - who offered updates about the current legislative session.

"Our organization is committed to facilitating collaboration among leaders from throughout the region, and this event provided a valuable opportunity for local leaders to communicate their legislative priorities directly to state lawmakers,” said LTADD Executive Director Daniel London. “The productive dialogue that took place today at our office serves as a promising start to what we hope will become a longstanding tradition of working towards enhancing the quality of life in our region.”

Some of the issues highlighted by our elected officials and community stakeholders during the meeting included sewer and wastewater treatment, transportation infrastructure, veteran affairs, tax codes and special projects to include workforce development, addiction recovery and the redesignation of local parkways as interstates.

Special thank you to the legislators present:

  • State Rep. Steve Bratcher (KY-25)
  • State Sen. Matt Deneen (KY-10)
  • State Rep. Samara Heavrin (KY-18)
  • State Sen. Stephen Meredith (KY-5)
  • State Rep. Brandon Reed (KY-24)
  • State Rep. Nancy Tate (KY-27)
