Former Governors' Mansion State Historic Site To Host "The Whole Hole Tour"
BISMARCK, N.D. – The Former Governors’ Mansion State Historic Site in Bismarck will host "The Whole Hole Tour" on Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. This free tour will last approximately one hour and involves climbing/descending steep stairs to the basement and third-floor attic playroom.
There are many holes found in the mansion. Pipe holes, electrical wire holes, and nail holes are a few that have contributed to the story of the 1884 home. Join Former Governors’ Mansion State Historic Site Supervisor Johnathan Campbell on a tour to learn the history that these holes reveal.
The Former Governors’ Mansion, located at the corner of Fourth Street and Avenue B in Bismarck, is managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Admission is free. The mansion is currently open on the second Friday and Saturday of each month from 1 to 5 p.m. To make an appointment outside of regular hours, phone 701.328.9528 or email jcampbell@nd.gov.
