ST. PAUL'S VOTERS' MEETING
St. Paul’s School has been blessed. We have a large student body and increasing needs. It is our intention to continue to assist parents through excellent Christian education. The voters of St. Paul’s Church will consider a comprehensive plan for the coming school year that includes a look at our current financial plans. This includes a recommendation to extend a one-year call for the lower grades and a preview of tuition rates.

We encourage you to attend the meeting on February 12, 2023 at 12:15 pm in the Fellowship Hall at St. Paul's Church. We hope to communicate not just what the plans are, but provide some reasoning behind the plans and to emphasize the many blessings we are experiencing. The present voting members will then make important decisions regarding the plans. Through this all, we remember that God’s will be done, and pray for his continued guidance and blessings.
CALL UPDATES
Please keep Mr. Steve Biedenbender in your prayers as he considers his call to teach grades 7-8 with music in Glendale, AZ. Also, keep Mr. Mike Plocher in your prayers as he considers his call to teach grades 7-8 with a Science and STEM program focus in Tuscon, AZ. Pastor Nate Scharf is holding two calls at this time and would appreciate your prayers, too. HEAD LICE REMINDER
It is that time of year again where we need to be on the lookout for head lice. Head lice are very small, tan-colored insects about the size of a sesame seed which live on human heads. They live and lay eggs (nits) close to the scalp. The nits are about the size of the eye of a needle, and gray, white, brown. or tan in color. Watch for increased itching around the scalp and neck or red bite marks behind the ears or back of neck.

They are passed from person-to-person by direct contact or shared personal items like combs, hats, sports headgear, jackets, etc.

If you notice anything or have questions, please contact the school office/nurse.

MLC CHOIR INVITATION
On Sunday, March 19, at 3:00, the College Choir of Martin Luther College will have their spring concert. The students from St. Paul's have been invited to join the choir in singing "Draw Near Through Christ" during the concert. I've attached a copy of the song.  I also have copies of the music at school. The children are invited to sing the melody throughout the song. The children will need to learn the song at home.  We won't be able to work on this at school since it is on a volunteer basis.  However, I will try to have one group practice at school within a few weeks of the concert. The words do not need to be memorized.  The children will practice once with the College Choir at 2:15 on the day of the concert in the Chapel of the Christ. Please let me know by Monday, February 27, if your child is interested, and include the classroom and grade of your child.

Here is a link to a performance of this piece by the Martin Luther College Choir.

This is an exciting and special opportunity and I hope many of your children can be involved. Please let me know if you have any questions. You can email me at lbalza@splnewulm.org.
