Rising to the challenge: Motivated senior leaders lead the way in building community service
In this Ever Brighter feature story, three senior leaders – Alana McGrath, Violet Urdahl and Andrea Suhyoun – bring the brilliance by showing how they're leading their school community in service and volunteerism. We are so proud that our students truly want a transformational learning experience not only for themselves, but for their peers. The value they bring to our schools is what makes us ever brighter.

Congrats to Gavin Nye! Gavin is a SAVHS senior whose photograph won the My District, My Minnesota contest for District 39. His artwork will be on display in the Minnesota Senate for the rest of the year. Beautiful photo - great work Gavin!
Everyone has a voice, and we want to hear you! 🗣️
If you haven't heard by now, our school board is working towards surveying students, families and staff on the equity work of the district. Everyone's voice matters, and they want to hear from you!

It's important that all opinions, concerns, questions or suggestions are available in creating a truly authentic representation of our district.

When the board develops a robust 18-month action plan, your opinion will be used to make us ever brighter. Take the survey while you can – deadline is February 15.

🎙️ New podcast: Substitutes & Transportation
We know it can be frustrating when a bus is late or doesn't show up, or when your student doesn't have access to a reliable educator due to teacher shortages.

This episode will explain the situation, where our district is at with fixing these issues and how we want to continue moving forward.

School lunch debt policy 🥪
St. Anthony - New Brighton Schools has a school lunch debt policy that is up to date with the MN Attorney General’s recent decision mandating that no child can be denied lunch or given a substitute lunch due to lunch debt (Policy 534).  We agree wholeheartedly. In fact, this has been our practice for several years. Read more about this policy and how you can support our students with lunch debt.
