Happy New Year, North Sydney! I hope you've had a great start to 2023.

With Parliament back in session next week, I am excited to see what the next 12 months will hold as we continue to advocate for the issues that matter most to our electorate: faster action on climate; integrity within federal politics; equality for all; and improved human rights.

I'm looking forward to working with our community to build on the incredible momentum we created in 2022, which has already achieved:
  • A stronger Climate Change Bill, which was passed with significant input from our electorate.
  • More protections for small- to medium-sized businesses within the "Secure Jobs, Better Pay" IR legislation.
  • Tabling of the Reducing Vehicle Pollution Bill. Our Private Members Bill continues to drive discussions about how we as a country can effectively transition to more efficient, best-in-class vehicles, including eventually electric cars.
  • Better oversight of the soon-to-be-formed National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) which, with our advocacy, will be overseen by a Parliamentary Committee that is not simply dominated by the Government of the day.
  • Development of a binding and ambitious Parliamentary Code of Conduct. This draft has been tabled in Parliament and is now ready for broader socialisation and eventual adoption.
This is all thanks to you — throughout our hectic first months as an independent electorate, people from right across our community have been at the heart of every reform and legislative change we have fought for.

So let's do this, North Sydney. We're taking our ambitions back to Canberra. I'm looking forward to another huge year ahead.
