Contact East 2023 artist submissions are open until Feb 13!

Contact East is APA's hallmark showcase summit and Atlantic Canada's premiere performing arts booking conference. The event brings together performing arts presenters, managers, and agents to see top-quality performances from a diverse range of artistic genres, including but not limited to: music, cabaret, dance, Deaf, Disability and Mad arts, circus arts, theatre, comedy, youth-oriented programming, and cultural performances. Contact East 2023 will take place in Woody Point, Newfoundland from Thursday, September 21 to Sunday, September 24. The application deadline is February 13, 2023 at 11:59pm Atlantic Time. CCMA SONGWRITERS' UNPLUGGED: Submissions are now open!

CCMA Songwriters’ Unplugged allows fans to hear the stories behind their favourite country songs and learn more about the artistry behind songwriting. 2023 will see the CCMA presenting two sessions — one on September 14 (Thursday) and the other on September 15 (Friday). Artists and songwriters wanting to share their stories with audiences during our annual event are asked to apply.

MMF Canada UK Export Mission

Apply now for an opportunity to be a delegate for our next MMF Canada Export Mission in the UK — a series of events and receptions at Focus Wales and The Great Escape in May 2023. This Export Mission for Artist Managers and Self-Managed Artists will feature an exclusive event in London, presented in partnership with the High Commission of Canada in the UK, on May 9, 2023 from 9AM - 2PM, which will include curated industry meetings. Please read the eligibility criteria before completing the application. Please note that this export mission program is pending and subject to funding approval. Applications close Sunday, February 12, 2023 at 11:59 PM ET. Selected delegates will be contacted by the end of February 2023.

FACTOR: ARTIST DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM DEADLINE

The last juried program intake for fiscal 2022-2023 is open to applications. Designed for artists in the early stages of a professional career in music, Artist Development provides investment support towards a suite of potential activities over a year of career progression. The deadline to apply is February 2, 2023, at 5:00pm ET.

WIM Atlantic is pleased to present Belonging: Discussing Transness, The Music Industry & All of Us

WIM Atlantic is pleased to present Belonging: Discussing Transness, The Music Industry & All of Us. This workshop, facilitated by Ronnie Ali (they/them & she/her) aims to open a dialogue about Transness in the music industry and how it relates to the Women in Music movement. This two-day workshop will provide a discussion space and guide participants through the process of lifting the veil of silence that covers all of the bad feelings and worries that we carry about belonging and worthiness. Workshops are open to all Women, Nonbinary, Trans and gender-diverse folks from the Atlantic provinces. Workshops will be held online on February 11th (11 am AT) and 12th (1 pm AT). WIM Atlantic is the Atlantic chapter of Women in Music Canada. WIMC is dedicated to fostering gender equality in the music industry through the support and advancement of women, non-binary, and gender-diverse professionals and creatives at every stage of their careers. The goal is to strengthen the socio-economic balance of the music industry by providing professional development, support and resources for our community.

Cross-Cultural Creation Residency with ArtsLinkNB

Three Indigenous artists. Three Francophone artists. Three Anglophone artists. Ten days of creative companionship.

Mawi’Art: Wabanaki Artist Collective is proud and honoured to collaborate with ArtsLink NB and L’Association acadienne des artistes professionnel.le.s du Nouveau-Brunswick (AAAPNB), to offer our fourth Cross-Cultural Creation Residency, June 16-25, 2023 in Metepenagiag. The organizations are launching a call for 10 artists from the province’s three largest cultural groups: Indigenous, Francophone, and Anglophone artists. The 10-day residency will take place at Metepenagiag Heritage Park and Outdoor Lodge, and artists will have the opportunity to work on a personal project as well as exchange creative energy and cultural wisdom with eight other artists.

Sappyfest 18 Artist Submission Form (August 4th-6th, 2023)

Sappyfest is an annual three-day festival of music, art, poetry and performance that takes place in the heart of downtown Sackville, NB. We are now accepting applications for Sappyfest 18, taking place August 4th-6th, 2023. This call is open to submissions for music, sound art, performance, poetry, dance, readings, interactive projects, installations, public education and engagement (e.g. workshops, conversations, explorations) or any other form of creative expression or collaboration. If you can dream it, we’d love to hear it! Applications close on Tuesday, February 28th, 2023.
