Package Tracking Fixed!

Beginning February 2023, Sage 100 no longer uses iShip for Package Tracking.

Instead of tracking IDs being directed to IShip, tracking IDs are now identified by the carrier and re-directed to the carrier's tracking site (USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL & OnTrac).

Package IDs that are not listed are sent to Google package tracking.

Sage 100 Package tracking is automatically implemented in all supported versions of Sage 100 - no program updates are required.

Sage 100 Number to Version Cross-Reference

Sage refers to their releases either by number - ie 7.10 - or by complete version - ie Sage 100 version 2022. Both refer to the same release.

If you aren’t sure what version of Sage 100 is in use, you can verify version number in one of the two ways below:

Stocking items with multiple quantity types (each, carton, case, etc.) is complex and error prone.

Bug: Social Security Wages plus Social Security Tip Wages does not observe the annual limit.

Sage is reviewing this particular issue which causes the Social Security Wages plus Social Security Tip Wages not to observe the annual limit.

The issue appears to be with Social Security Tip Wage History not being included in the calculation of annual SS limits.

If you pay tips to employees then keep an eye on this issue via Sage KB 118566.

Update - Fix Coming: Kill Selected Task button in Master Console does not work in Sage 100 2022

I was surprised to stumble upon KB 116539 dealing with an inability to kill certain tasks that are displayed in Sage 100 Master Console.

My experience with manually closing other user tasks has been hit-or-miss at best.

Sage says watch for a fix in one of these upcoming release - 2023.0 or 2022.3

FIXED: 1099 Misc Box Not Populated

Some 1099 Misc boxes are not populated in Aatrix grid or on the form.

Box 16 State Income Tax on 1099 Misc isn't populating when printing the form via Aatrix. However, the field is populated in AP_1099VendorPayments. m4t

Expect a hotfix for Sage 100 2020, 2021 and 2022 which you’ll need to install AFTER applying the IRD for 2022

What Does Spawn Tasks Mean?

There are two basic methods of starting a task in Sage 100 ERP Advanced or Premium:

Through the application server or
through the *WindeX/spawn command (aka “Spawn Tasks”).

The following is a summary of capabilities; they both have benefits and disadvantages:

Application Server

Default method of opening tasks
Separate Socket for each task
Robust, has reconnect logic

Spawn Tasks

Must be selected in User Maintenance
All tasks run through same Single Socket
No-Reconnect Logic, A dropped connection kills the task
More network and system resource Intensive

Note:

Some sites may require that Spawn Tasks be checked or users might receive an error (Windx client connection) message upon logon. Generally, if one user receives the error all other users will as well.
