Dear Soaring Heights Families,
It has been a great week of learning and celebrations. Our First Grade classes celebrated the end of our Lunar New Year studies with a dragon dance. They enjoyed comparing celebrations from various countries. Students in Innovation tested handmade weather tools to predict the weather and its changes throughout the week. We celebrated our Second Quarter Honor Roll for Middle School with a total of 280 students earning honor roll recognition and 111 students earning a 4.0.
Middle School Honor Band did an incredible job this week performing at Erie High School. Our MS Choir students showcased their talents at the Erie High School community performance.
Our campaign this month is focused on random acts of kindness as students and staff continue their focus on both 7 Mindsets and InFocus curriculum. Beginning Monday, February 13th through February 17th Soaring Heights PK-8 and its PTO will be hosting the annual Spread the Love food drive. The purpose is to fill the shelves of our local Erie Food Bank. Please see below for more information.
All Parent Teacher Conferences will take place February 6th- February 8th. Please see below for more detailed information. If you have not signed with your elementary teacher, please do so by Monday. For Middle School, we will have an open forum evening on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 if you are not able to schedule a specific time with your students' teachers.
Elementary will have Valentine’s Day celebrations by grade level. Please look for more information from your classroom teachers. Middle School will be sharing singing Valentine’s that can be purchased using the QR code below.
Thank you for your continued support of your student to be at school on time and prepared each day with a charged iPad. Please make sure your students’ belongings e.g. water bottles and jackets are clearly labeled with first and last names.
As always thank you for your partnership and dedication to support the progress and success of your student and our school community.

- 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Innovation Center of St. Vrain Valley Schools
- Presented by Dr. Shelly Mahon
- Description: The world has changed for a variety of reasons over the last few years, but one thing remained the same – our ability to be resilient. While the challenges we’ve faced can cause fear and worry, they also create opportunities to build resilience in ways we have not been exposed to in the past. Almost a half a century of research tells us that parents/caregivers are the number one source of a child’s resilience. So, what does that look like and how do you create that environment? In this interactive conversation, we will explore what resilience looks like for you, your child, and your family. We will address myths and dig into specific strategies that leave you empowered to go home and apply what you’ve uncovered and learned. You will see that resilience is in each and every one of us, it simply needs to be grown and nurtured.
