Cabled Fiber received new yarns this week - From Berroco - we NOW have on the shelves: Berroco Ultra Alpaca (in natural Colors) and 2 new colors of Aerial Silk/Mohair - plus we restocked the other colors - now 7 to choose from.

Ultra Alpaca Natural is the undyed version of Ultra Alpaca. Each shade of super fine Alpaca and Peruvian wool are created by blending the natural colors of Alpaca with undyed wool. 219Yds/100g - we have 5 of the 6 colors (one is on backorder) and we would love to know what "colors" you want us to bring in - there are so many to choose from.

Berroco Aerial is airy and light, a mohair and silk lace blend is a perfect yarn to carry along with another yarn to give a soft halo to any project or use it alone to make a soft and airy fabric. 284yds/25g - it goes a long way. The new shades are a light and darker blue.

Other new yarns are in as well: Lettlopi, Berroco Lumi, a restock of Jody Long Ciao, Online Linie 17 Emotions , new colors of Kathmandu Aran, and Indulgence brushed Merino.

February Events at Cabled Fiber & Yarn

Cabled Cash can be redeemed from Feb 1st through the 28th. You Must bring in those dollars that you earned in December 2022 to use them.

On February 11th from 3-6pm we’ll have a Drop in Craft Event - this is a perfect time to get away for some heartfelt crafting inspiration. Come join us and see what you can do with fiber & yarn with donations going to the United Way.

On February 18th from 10am to noon we’ll have a Berroco Yarn Tasting. Beth is designing a cowl to be knit with all 6 yarns you will be sampling. You’ll get to try some new yarns and give us some feedback of what you would like us to order for the store as well as have a wonderful Cowl to wear or give as a gift. The Tasting Kits are available for purchase online or in the store. If you are local, you can order online and select the option to pick up at the store. Make sure to reserve yours today!

On Sunday, February 26th from 1-4pm, join in the fiber fun at the Port Angeles Library with the Olympic Peninsula Area of the Northwest Spinners & Fiber Arts Association. Bring whatever fiber project you are working on (knit, crochet, felt, woven, spinning, quilting, etc) or just come and see what everyone else is working on and make some new fiber friends. You could learn to spin on a Drop Spindle.

It’s time for Another Knit A Long - Starting on February 21st at 5pm - we’ll begin working on the Moebius Vest - by Elizabeth Zimmermann. We’ll talk about how to measure yourself for the vest, get your gauge to calculate your rows and vest construction. This Pattern is more of a recipe than a pattern and can be found in the “Knitting Around” book by Elizabeth Zimmermann and Wool Gathering #28 or on the Schoolhouse press website.
