Dear GLC members and friends,

Looking for some meaningful reading or resources for Black History Month? Check out this list from the Lower Susquehanna Synod, for some worthwhile books and online resources.
The ELCA (our denomination) is celebrating and honoring with Talks at the Desk Season 2, the ELCA's Black History Month video series which premieres every Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. Central on YouTube! This week's episode featured amazing ministry, family, and youth out of Milwaukee, which made me reflect on how congregations can be hubs for community transformation. How can we be a part of it where we are??

Game Night & Communion bread/wine/juice Tasting – 2/6

Join us next Monday night, 2/6, at 7:00 in the fellowship hall, for some fellowship and fun as we play games and do some thoughtful communion wine tasting. Bring a bottle to share or suggest, and/or a game you like. We’ll rank our favorites and discuss pairing them with seasons of the church year, for some fun! We'll also have juices and communion bread options to sample. Hope to see you then!
Pancake Brunch- Sunday 2/19

It's tradition to get in your sweets before Lent begins - so the last Sunday before Ash Wednesday, Sunday 2/19 at 11:15ish, join us for a pancake brunch after worship! All are welcome - bring a dish to share (sign up sheet here), or just bring you!
Lenten Devotional Submissions: God in the Ordinary

For the upcoming season of Lent, we will be reflecting together in seeing God in our ordinary lives. We’re compiling a Lenten devotional, which will be shared as a booklet or daily email, and invite your submissions by Sunday, 2/19.
Here’s the assignment: go through your camera roll or digital pictures. Find pictures that speak to you on one of the following  themes: Gathering/community, confession/sorry, forgiveness/reconciliation, praise/thanks, word/scripture, meal, sharing - and write a description or caption, no longer than two sentences. Submit them on the online form here.
Order Easter Flowers - by 2/27

It may seem months away, but it’s time to order flowers to adorn the church for Easter and then your home for friends and family to enjoy. You can share them in honor or memory of someone special to you, and these will be printed and shared during Easter services. Fill in an order form here.
Global Prayer with Our Cross Collection

During the season after Epiphany, global worship elements reflect God's good news to the whole world. We invite you to notice and pray along with us for different countries each week, following the World Council of Churches Ecumenical Prayer Cycle (click to see this week's prayer places, resources, and learn about those places) - as we do so, we'll highlight crosses from those places in our collection. Also notice and pray for the places and people from which new crosses in our collection have been recently added. Look for the dots and legend on the sign in the entryway. This week, we're praying for Andorra, Italy, Malta, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, and Vatican City - we have lots of crosses from these places - find them in the entryway!
Kids' (& Parents') - back on schedule in February!

We're back on schedule with kids' activities, which happen Sundays from 9:00-9:45 in the fellowship hall. In February, we'll resume our schedule: Sunday School on the 1st & 3rd Sundays, Little Lutherans on the 2nd Sunday of each month. See you then!

**So, that means Sunday school this Sunday!!**
Bible Study - Thursday nights - try it and join us for the new year!
Each Thursday, 7:30-8:30pm on Zoom here, Pastor Brett and GLC friends gather for Bible study. We pick up where we are in reading a book of the Bible together, and simply read and discuss - no experience necessary, and join in whenever you can! It's a good place to learn, explore your own faith, and get to know other church members. We chat together, and then close each week sharing our joys/concerns. There's room for you - join us next Thursday or anytime in the future!
