Reverend Leslie Kee Retirement
Reverend Leslie Kee retired as minister of the Unitarian Universalist Community of Casper at the end of January 2023. We wish Leslie and her family well in her retirement.
Reverend Leslie Kee earned her Bachelor's degree from Colorado State University with a major in English, minor in journalism, and secondary teaching credentials. She graduated from Meadville Lombard Theological School with a Master of Divinity and was ordained by the members of the Third Unitarian Church of Chicago.
After her adventures in Chicago, Rev. Kee returned to Lusk, Wyoming, where she and her family had lived for 20 years, and began serving as the Staff Chaplain for the Wyoming Women's Center, the state's prison for women. In 2011, the Unitarian Universalist Community of Casper hired Rev. Kee as their part-time minister. She has recently been very active in Women’s Rights issues in Casper.
Rev. Kee will stay in Casper where it is likely she will occasionally encounter congregational members in the course of daily life. Because she is the only Unitarian clergy within several hours of Casper, a congregation member may desire to reach out to the Minister for pastoral care or rites of passage. It is a normal expectation when a minister leaves a congregation that the minister will not discuss past or future events or activities related to the congregation or congregational life. The minister will have no professional contact with current members of the congregation, including weddings, funerals, or other rites of passage or for pastoral care. We request that members respect this in order that she not be placed in an uncomfortable position.
