In the largest ever effort of its kind, a multi-year UNECE project has kicked off to produce internationally agreed guidance and advice for conducting the next round of censuses, foreseen around 2030. All UNECE countries, and many beyond the region, rely on the Conference of European Statisticians’ Recommendations for Population and Housing Censuses to help them plan and carry out censuses and ensure that they are reliable, cost-effective and comparable. Many university or secondary school graduates who enter the workforce in international trade receive no training on standards and quality infrastructure. UNECE has developed a model curriculum with over 15 modules that educational institutes can use to introduce this subject to their students.
