February Safeguarding News

Spotlight on online safety

This month we're focusing on the issues around online safety.

One thing to do this month

Take time this month to have a quick review of your worshipping community's website. In order to help people access essential safeguarding information quickly, it is important to have the following on your website.
  • Contact details of the PSO and the Diocesan Safeguarding Officer
  • To display safeguarding arrangements or a one-click link to the arrangements on the front page
You may also want to link people to national helplines, and quick guides for dealing with a safeguarding emergency.
For clear information about what to put on the website see this document from the Parish Dashboard --> You will also find other helpful and easy-to-understand resources on the Parish Dashboard. Email dashboards@glosdioc.org.uk to sign up.

Youth club saved by church and community

Church and community organisations in Minchinhampton are working together to support local children, families and young people to help them get a better start in life.

When the local youth group closed, Holy Trinity Minchinhampton and Minchinhampton Baptist Church were concerned about the impact its loss would have on the community. They decided to take on the group and start a volunteer team to keep caring for the children of the community. Read more -->
