Keeping the Community Connected:
This Week's Local Program Highlights

February 5, 2023

Funky Food with Dave

Dave VanGuilder has been hit on You Tube with his "Funky Food with Dave" for a few years, and now we have it to share! Join Dave as he tastes his way through all sorts of different foods, condiments, & drinks. For this first one, we have a recent video with Dave tasting Gringo Bandito hot sauce. Funky Foods with Dave is now playing throughout each week on the Community Channel.

Proper Prep for Your Smelt Catch

Following up from last week's episode of "VT Master Anglers", Zach returns from his time on the ice for a master cooking lesson from Chef Dave Groenewold. Learn how to de-bone and cook fried smelt - or as Chef Dave calls them, "Shmelts".
Thanks to Zach for continuing to bring VT Master Anglers to the proverbial airwaves! Want to know when it's on? Check the latest Community Channel Program Grid on our "Program Guides" page.

The Speckers' Return!

John & Ida Specker were back in the studio after a bit of a hiatus, recording several songs. They both played fiddle and sang, and it's always great to have them. Here they are with a rendition of  the traditional tune "Old Jaw Bone". You can look back at the entire archive from The Speckers HERE.

Student Interview

Board members from the Expeditionary School at Black River (ESBR), Patrick Pullinen & Gary Blodgett, provide the latest update from the school. They also interview student  Lorien Strange about her experience at ESBR and why expeditionary learning works for her.

LOCAL MEETING COVERAGE
We provide "gavel-to-gavel" coverage of local government meetings, and have been doing so for the last 20+ years! They are televised every day (& night) on the Education / Gov't channel (Comcast 1086 & Vtel 167), starting at 6pm (and repeating the following day at 12am, 7am, & 1pm).  All meetings can also be viewed on demand on our website.

Want to know which meetings play on what night?
FIND OUR  MEETING PLAYBACK GUIDE (and other helpful guides) HERE.
We are looking to hire a part-time Field Producer & Production Associate, a position that comes with room for growth for the right person. Production experience is definitely helpful, but even more important are excellent communication skills, critical thinking, & dependability.  Learn more about it & apply here.
Want to know what's on when? Check our our Daily Schedules for a detailed view for today and upcoming days. And check out the Program Grids for a general idea of what airs when on a week-to-week basis.
