Jan 10 Meeting Recap
We had about 27 people at our meeting, held at our usual location: the Presbyterian Church – Broomfield. In 2022, we gained 40 new members, doubling the number of members in the Art Guild. We want 2023 to be just as successful by keeping the Art Guild a group of individuals working together to share and connect our art community. We don't want to have the negative aspects of a large organization. Everyone should feel seen and enjoy being a part of the group.
Dave Shelley provided updates on our new Board members:
- Dave Shelley and Gale Simonson are our Co-Presidents
- Judy Shelley and James Ball are Co-Vice Presidents
- Joanna Barreras is Secretary
- Camie Rigirozzi remains our Jill-of-all-trades
- Tanya Tenorio remains treasurer
We took a moment to speak about Isolde Gilliland, who passed away this month (01/03/2023). Isolde was an active and friendly member of our guild; we'll miss her and her colorful paintings.
Carol Dillard spoke about the Anthem Ranch event for 2023.
- Anthem Ranch is a 55+ community where they have a large event room to display and sell our artwork.
- We can have an art sale/show there again this year. Members selected June 3-4 for the Anthem Ranch show. We'll need volunteers to help with set up and take down. More on this event/show next meeting.
- 17 spots are available; we'll do sign-ups next Guild meeting.
- A limited number of artists in the Anthem community, who are not current members of the Art Guild, will be invited to participate.
- $10 to sign up (no commission or any other fees).
- Each spot will have a 6ft table with a few extra feet on either side.
We welcomed new members Joanne Clavelle (watercolor) and Carole Beck (photography).
We'll also have more information on the next Broomfield Library display soon.
The BCC display artwork will be hung on March 2, between 1:00-2:00 pm, and run through May. An online signup link will be sent to all members.
Gale will do a workshop survey during February's meeting.
