Introduction to Judaism
February 9th - May 25th, 2023

Introduction to JudaismDue to the on-going demand for this class, we are going to start a second session for 2023 on February 9th, 2023. You can register for the course using this link.

Exploring the Jewish Experience is an engaging multi-session course for anyone interested in exploring Jewish life through a Reform lens.

Open to all, this course is perfect for interfaith couples, those raising Jewish children, spiritual seekers, individuals considering conversion, and Jews who want a meaningful adult Jewish learning experience. Our programs welcome people from all backgrounds and are LGBTQ-friendly.

Topics include holidays, life cycle celebrations, theology and core beliefs, Hebrew, prayer, the Bible and other sacred texts, history, antisemitism and the Holocaust, Zionism and Israel, the North American Jewish experience, and the tapestry of the Jewish people today.

Our teacher this year, Rabbi Geoffrey Dennis, encourages students to raise questions and engage deeply and personally with all topics. The only cost is the required books which the students will be expected to source themselves.

There are 13 sessions. Each session will be held the Thursday nights from 7:30 to 9:00 PM beginning on February 9, 2023. The last day of class will be May 25, 2023.

There will not be any classes on February 23rd, April 27th, or May 4th as those evenings conflict with other events at the synagogue. The session for April 6th will begin at 6:00 PM and the students will be invited to join our Community Seder for Passover that evening.

The course will be held at Congregation Kol Ami – 1887 Timber Creek Road, Flower Mound, Texas 75028.

If you have any questions or issues, please contact our office manager, Bob Lennard, at 972-539-1938 or at office@kolami-tx.org.
