AFFIRMING SUNDAY – SUNDAY JANUARY 29
GUEST SPEAKER – JAKE FARR, PRESIDENT OF PFLAG DURHAM REGION
This Sunday, we are delighted to welcome guest speaker, Jake Farr (he/they). Jake is a registered clinical social worker in Ontario, holding a Master degree in Social Work with emphasis on addictions and 2SLGBTQI+ health.
Jake is also president of PFLAG Durham. PFLAG Canada is a national charitable organization, founded by parents in support of their LGBTQ2S children. [1] PFLAG stands for “ Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays.”
PFLAG Durham (our local chapter) was founded in Oshawa in 2003. Among the many things it does, PFLAG:
- Supports people with their journeys through gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation.
- Provides education and resources to encourage inclusion, diversity and equity [2]
