JOIN US FOR A DAY OF HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES TOMORROW
Exhibition / Make Stations: 10am - 5pm, Saturday, January 28
Artist Talks / Performance / Screening: 1pm, Saturday, January 28
Dear friends,

Join us this Saturday, January 28, as we mark the final day of the Real Reality (RR) exhibition, featuring Geneviève Johnson, Bran Mackie, and Sarah Emery Clark.

The activities at the all-day, drop-in make stations will include: LEGO/stop-motion animation, felting/spinning, movement/making/stitching, and data art research. The gallery's hub team will be on-hand to support visitors of all ages and abilities.

At 1pm, gather in the Main Gallery with us. Listen as the exhibiting artists present about their projects and creative processes, and watch a live movement performance and video presentation by Geneviève Johnson. This will be followed by community conversation and making with materials related to the artists' installed projects.

If you cannot attend in person, you can watch the Zoom livestream beginning at 1pm. Click here to watch.

All exhibitions and activities held at CVAG are free, with donations gratefully accepted.

We hope to see you there!

MICHAEL FERNANDES
We Don't Know: January 19 - February 3
Don't Know Upcoming Installments: February 4 - April 1
We Don't Know is a video / sound / implied drawing installation that can be seen and heard 24/7 on the CVAG Plaza. Created by artist Michael Fernandes, who is a Governor General awarded Canadian artist and educator, this work is the first installment of upcoming programming that is part of Open⋮ Reality ll.

On February 4, the upcoming installment Don’t Know expands Fernandes's installation presentations and transforms the main exhibition space into a MakeArtSpace that will host public drop-in opportunities every open day at the gallery:
  • Self-directed MakeArt Stations will be supplied with a wide variety of materials for visitors to create with.
  • Facilitated MakeArt Projects — posted over the upcoming weeks — will offer participants guided opportunities to build new making skills.
Fernandes’s multimedia projects create situations that actively solicit participation from the viewer to activate exploration of the intersections of private life with public space.
