Hope Springs at Heritage River
Each Sunday a group who live at the Heritage River Retirement
Community in Elora love to join our worship online. They get together
in a lounge around a large television. Can you give them a hand? We’re
needing people to take turns worshipping with them. Using simple
instructions we’ll provide, you’ll tune the television to the livestream
and share in the worship time together. You’ll be a vital link between
our congregation in our Sanctuary and our congregation at Heritage
River. If you’d like to know more, please speak with Greg. Thanks!

Reports
We're putting together an Annual Report. It will cover the past year(s) for Alma, Bethany, and Elora UCs, the amalgamation experience, and these first months of Hope Springs. We'll also look ahead to the rest of 2023.
 
Do you have something you'd like included in the report? 
Deadline for Submissions is Sunday, February 19.
Reports will be reading for pick-up on February 26. They'll also be sent by email.

Hot chocolate and snacks after at Hope Springs UC
(children and youth need to be accompanied by an adult)

United Church Summer Camps
We are blessed in our region of The United Church of Canada (our region is Western Ontario Waterways) to have a few summer camp!. Many of our families have attended these camps and many of our youth have gone on for leadership training and become leaders. And many of our adults had wonderful experiences as campers and leaders at these camps too, years ago!

Please check out these websites. Each camp has a different feel and offers different options. Registration is already open at 2 of them.

Mid-Week Music at Melville
with pianist Brad Halls
Come and enjoy a musical break in your busy day at “Mid-Day Music at Melville” returns on Wednesday, February 8 from 12 noon to about 1:00 p.m. at Melville United Church in Fergus, when pianist Brad halls will present songs written by Broadway and Hollywood legend Cole Porter, one of those rare brilliant musicians who wrote both the music and lyrics to his dozens of hit standards.  Come and enjoy songs such as “Night and Day”, “I Get a Kick Out of You”, “Let’s Do It (Let’s Fall in Love)”, “True Love” and so many more.  There is absolutely no admission fee, but a voluntary contribution to Melville to keep the heat and lights on and the piano tuned is always welcome.
Ways to Help in Hope Springs
Our congregation is about people using and sharing their many gifts, so together we can join in God's work. There will be many, many ways for you to take part. Might one of these fit you?
  • Sing in the Choir
  • Join the music Praise Team
  • Greet people coming to worship
  • Read the Bible in worship
  • Lead prayer in worship
  • Run the tech system on Sundays
  • Prepare refreshements for after-worship fellowship time
  • Visit folks on behalf of the congregation
  • Be on the Children's Worship (Sunday School) team
  • Help lead Youth Group
  • Prepare the bread/juice for Communion
  • Serve Communion during worship
  • Count and record the Offering
