Pirate Invasion!

Are you shipshape or shark bait? The Reader’s Revenge Book-aneer Krewe at the Lakeland Public Library is looking for young buccaneers to help us find the lost gold treasure of Tierra de Lagos. Pirate recruits will need to be savvy and skilled to prove they're worthy scallywags! Wear ye best pirate slops (attire), be ready to sing shanties along with other buckos, and prepare to show ye seadog skills!
This event will have pirate themed crafts, activities, and treasure hunt for all ages.

Take-home kits are for ages 18+.
Registration is required and opens Monday, Feb 20 at 9 am.
Choose to pick-up your craft from any of our Lakeland Libraries. Kits can be picked up any time on Monday, Feb 27.
Kits not picked up by 7 pm on Thursday, March 2 will be given to the next available registrant.

Lakeland History and Culture Center
at the Lakeland Public Library
Opened on September 8, 2022, the Lakeland History and Culture Center features a 1400 square foot exhibit space dedicated to telling the many stories of our community.
The current exhibit, Ties That Bind: 1880-1925, Lakeland's Formative Years, showcases the early days of Lakeland's founding and incorporation, as well as the role of the railroads in helping to build and develop the area.
