Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai visited the Eastern part of the country and the Eastern University of Sri Lanka as a chief guest of the International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research.
|
|
|
He met with specialists at Sri Sathya Sai Karuna Nilayam Medical Centre and Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, Sri Lanka. There, He guided the team on further action and inspected operating theaters, wards and Cath lab.
|
|
|
The second part of His trip was spent in Colombo where He met several dignitaries including The Indian High Commissioner, Director General of Health Services, Sri Lanka, Deputy Director Health Services and Director of the Lady Ridgeway Hospital.

He has been awarded two honorary doctorates for his work in promoting African-American Culture and racial harmony. Isaac has been involved with Sri Sathya Sai Baba and His teachings for almost 50 years.

A Light for Ukraine
|

|
Very special, orphaned, disabled men with down syndrome are cared for by monks from St. Luigi Orione (an Italian priest who was active during the social upheavals of the late 19th century) Church in Lviv (Ukraine). The shelter provides for its eight special residents, while the workshop serves the creative self-expression of around 20 disabled children and youth.
|

According to their guardian, Natalya Kaplya, the residents had been under a lot of stress when the lights were out. Upon receiving new lamps and camper's flashlights they became very happy and joyful!
|
|
|
More flashlights and LED lamps were forwarded to the children at 'Mama's Home' shelter! They now know with gratitude, that even in darkness God cares for them and there IS hope for a bright and peaceful future!
|
|
|
Each week, by God's Grace, the Heart-to-Heart volunteer group in Kiev serves up to 100 hot vegetarian breakfasts for elderly people, people with special needs and the homeless.
With the support of 'A Light for Ukraine' mission, 20 individual sets with dairy products and goodies for elderly guests were made! About 90 guests were also treated to tasty and steamy hot breakfast!

16 boxes with humanitarian aid were sent from Kaunas to Kharkiv. The boxes were prepared with great love by the Sai Prema Team in Lithuania. They contained thermal clothes, 100 hand warmers, 8 survival blankets, chocolates, sweets and pencils for the children.

Inspired by the teachings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Father Charles Ogada founded the Spiritan Self Awareness Initiative (SSAI), a non-profit humanitarian organization, in 2010 in Nigeria. He provided water to thousands of people from his village and nearby areas, shelter to the homeless, and education to children. In 2015, Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai visited Father Charles and named his entire premises "JOY Village." In 2016, a new chapter of healthcare began in JOY Village with the inauguration of Aruike Speciality Hospital – the Hospital of Good Health.

The Joy Village 'old is gold' team distributed food items to 140 elderly people, who received the team with dancing and singing at every home they visited! The people were happy to start the New Year with a gift of food items and the 'old is gold' team was grateful to the sponsors who helped them put smiles on the faces of these elderly people.
|
|
|
Another wonderful year of service began with the Joy Village School Feeding Programs that continue to nourish 500 school going children in TELA (The Embodiment of Love Academy) and two other Government Schools in Enugu State. They express their gratitude to Swami for the sustenance of the Biarienu School Feeding Program.
|
|
|
TELA students are glowing in their new uniforms that were gifted to them during Christmas celebrations. The uniforms have greatly impacted the overall dress code and cleanliness of the 1,166 students.
|
|
|
They each received beautiful water bottles to replace the pet bottles that nearly 80 percent of the students were using for storing water.
|
|
|
The Joy Village academic and non-academic staff were not left out, as they also received new water bottles.
|
|
|
Aruike Specialty Hospital (ASH) runs two clinical facilities in remote rural areas in Enugu State and Imo State respectively. The hospital continues to provide free healthcare services and maternity care to mother and child while also treating adults of all ages.
|
|
|
In 2023, over 16,000 patients were treated free of all cost at Aruike Specialty Hospitals. Health, they say is wealth. The team at the Hospital is grateful to the sponsors for showering the people of Nigeria with so much wealth.

The 5th Anniversary of Sri Sathya Sai Sarla Memorial Hospital was celebrated on the morning of January 14, 2023, at Sathya Sai Grama in Muddenahalli, Karnataka.

The following are excerpts from Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai's talk on this occasion:
"In this mission, I must also set the target for you (healthcare professionals). We will be running the largest chain of super specialty hospitals across the world. Probably, we will be operating 100 operation theatres across the world every day. You can only imagine how many teams of surgeons, anesthetists, intensivists, doctors, nurses, paramedics we would need. I know it is a big task. A tall order. But it's not to be done by tomorrow. I will give you time. But in a few years from now, you must produce the right kind of doctors, nurses, paramedics, administrators who will run 100 operation theatres across the world with complete dedication, commitment, quality, compassion, efficiency." - Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai

The Sai Swasthya Wellness Centre opened in Telangana in line with Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's mission of providing free healthcare without any distinctions. The center was opened in Kagaznagar town, Komaram Bheem District in Telangana by Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai along with Dr. C. Sreenivas, Chairman of Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust; local MLA, Sri Koneru Konappa; and Dr. Harish Rao Palvai, noted orthopedist and politician.
|
|
|
This center offers cardiac and fetal echo scans absolutely free of cost. In addition, there will be outpatient services and rural outreach camps which will help this area by providing the much-needed medical attention and preventive diagnostics, especially for the tribal population from the surrounding hamlets. This center will further refer identified cases requiring surgery to other Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals where tertiary care is provided free of cost.

After the opening, a small event was organized at Vinay Function Hall where Sadguru addressed the gathering and assured them that He would return in six months, and a Mother & Child Hospital would be built in this area. Sadguru also blessed the devotees and volunteers and inspired them with His noble initiatives.

Free Heart Surgeries in Fiji

More children are undergoing open-heart surgeries as a 17-member team is visiting from Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Mumbai, India, led by Dr. Shyamdeep Borgohain, pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon.
|
|
|
Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital Director, Dr. Krupali Tappoo said that the surgeries commenced on January 22nd with an 11-year-old child. The team has conducted, free-of-cost, open-heart surgeries for children with congenital heart defects for two weeks.
|
|
|
Luisa Cavalevu has counted the free life-saving open-heart surgery for her seven-year-old daughter, Asata Dauvere, as a blessing in disguise. Her daughter, together with eight other children were given a new lease of life through surgeries conducted by the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital.

Since the official opening of Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital, they have saved the lives of 81 children and conducted thousands of echocardiograms.

Sri Sathya Sai Aarogya Vahini facilitated 19 free-of-cost Cataract Surgeries in collaboration with Lions Netra Niketan, Golfgreen, Kolkata. All the services from screening of patients, pre-operative profiles, to post-operative follow up care were offered by Aarogya Vahini.
The Team extended their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Monalisa Pramanik Nandy for her selfless support.

126 Patients were screened and offered free consultations along with monitoring of blood pressure and blood sugar. All the patients were offered monthly medicines as prescribed by the doctors. As always, all the services were rendered completely free of cost.

The Non-Stop Journey of Love on Wheels
|
|
|
|
As the New Year begins, the Journey of Love on Wheels resolves to continue spreading wellness through compassionate health services provided with love, at rural doorsteps. The journey thus far has touched many lives in different parts of rural India.
|
|
|
Comprehensive screenings are provided on the Mobile Medical Units at 25 rural locations covering over 150 villages. 1,183 Medical Camps providing 108,000 consultations are organized and 615 tertiary care procedures and surgeries are performed with the help of partner hospitals.
|
|
|
Rural mothers are examined for general as well as gynecologic problems. As part of the Mother and Child Wellness Program, the women are provided with awareness lessons on menstrual hygiene, and breast and cervical cancers. The children are screened for general symptoms and for cardiac anomalies with HD stethoscope.
|
|
|
Access to essential medicines is a silent crisis. As an ongoing effort, Aarogya Vahini Trust has been consistently organizing monthly camps to support the rural, chronic patients by providing free-of-cost medicines. They have dispensed more than 100,000 prescriptions from the Pharma Department.

Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai inaugurated the SaiSure Nutritions Manufacturing Facility, located just outside the Ashram premises in Muddenahalli, Karnataka. This facility will fulfill all the needs of providing morning nutrition to children across the India.
|
|
|
The 6-floor, state-of-the-art, nutraceutical facility at its full capacity can produce 750 tons of SAISURE MICRONUTRIENT HEALTH MIX per month. This will provide the micro-nutrition needs of nearly 5 million beneficiaries from Government School children, toddlers, pregnant women to lactating mothers.

The nutraceutical facility aims to address the hidden hunger that causes malnutrition due to deficiency in micro-nutrients.
|
|
|
The composition of SaiSure has been conceived by many specialists such as nutritionists, doctors and professionals in Public Health.

The Sri Sathya Sai Annual Sports and Cultural Meet 2023 FOR GIRLS coincided with the 74th Republic Day Celebrations in India. Sadguru arrived at Hrudaya Mandir Grounds, preceded by a beautiful procession consisting of bike escorts, Vedam group, a welcoming dance, a slow march squad and girls in beautiful costumes.
|
|
|
Sadguru began the program by lighting the ceremonial lamp and unfurling the National Flag followed by the National Anthem. A march past by all the girl students of various campuses of the institution was followed by the oath ceremony.
|
|
|
In His talk, Sadguru reiterated how Indian culture has always placed women on a high pedestal and commended the efforts put into this program's success.
|
|
|
The students also performed magnificent feats in taekwondo which they had learnt as part of their self-defense course and had a friendly volleyball game before concluding the morning program.
|
|
|
The Evening Program began with Vedic invocation and was followed by speeches by girl students of the institution. Prize distribution to winners of sports and cultural events A dance presentation concluded the program after prize distribution to winners of sports and cultural events.

Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai visited the campus on January 18th for the first time this year. He was welcomed with a grand procession led by the band and a slow march. The day ended with a music program, cultural presentations, group discussions and a talk by Sadguru.

On January 19th, Ganapati Homa was performed by the girl students. Sadguru blessed everyone with sacred water and chaired a meeting with District Educational Officers before departing from the Campus.

Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai visited the Child Heart Care Centre in Khargar, Navi Mumbai. The staff at Sanjeevani welcomed Sadguru with great joy. The evening witnessed the first Graduation Ceremony of Post-Doctoral Fellowship wherein fellowships were awarded to deserving recipients.

|
Sadguru invited all the children present, to join Him in cutting a cake. He then gave away 'Gift of Life' certificates to the children who had undergone surgeries at the hospital. Sadguru also walked around the wards, interacting with all the children currently in admission.
|
|
|
One of the questions He asked many of the children was, “What is it that you want to do when you grow up?” to which one little boy replied that he wanted to become a doctor and serve.
Sadguru turned to the guests who were with him and told them that this is the kind of gratitude that is borne in the hearts of the children when free healthcare, education and nutrition are given to them without any distinction.

The Annual Higher Education Scholarship Distribution Programme of Arya Vysya Charitable Trust was held on January 22nd in Bangalore. In conjunction with their 50th anniversary, the Trust was conferring scholarships to deserving students to pursue their higher education.

Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai was invited as the Chief Guest for this event. After the distribution of scholarships, Parama Pujya Swami Sri Sachidananda Saraswathi and Sadguru addressed the gathering.
|
|
|
Sadguru described the concept of oneness and how these youth who were recipients of the scholarship from the society, should in turn serve the society upon completion of their studies.
|
|

On January 20th, 2023, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence (SSSUHE) collaborated for promotion of studies and research in ancient Indian knowledge systems. The two varsities have signed an MoU to further the dissemination of vast and deep ancient Indian wisdom. As part of the understanding, SSSUHE is instituting Sri Sathya Sai Scholarship for the students from Banaras Hindu University studying Vedas, Sanskrit, Vyakarana (Grammar and Linguistic Analysis), Astrology and other branches of Hindu Studies.

Under the scheme, one hundred UG, PG or research students will be provided an annual scholarship of Rs. 25,000 on merit cum means basis. BHU will share its expertise with SSSUHE and guide the latter in the establishment of the Centre for Vedantic Studies with the help of Bharat Adhyayan Kendra, BHU. The MoU also proposes Sri Sathya Sai Bharat Sanskriti Samman Award to be presented annually, seeking to recognize and honor those contributing to the field of Vedas & Vedanta. The award comprising cash prize and citation will be presented in Student, Teacher and School categories.

On January 12th, a delegation of renowned musicians from the HKU University of Arts, Netherlands, performed the Western interpretation of three compositions of Tyagaraja on Tyagaraja Aradhana Day. Mr. Ned McGowan, Professor and Head of Department at HKU University led the troupe. He is also a flutist, contemporary music composer and the founder of the International Rhythm Course.

Exchange of MoU
On January 13th, yet another fantastic performance by the Sai Symphony Orchestra was enjoyed by all. The German and Greek Ambassadors were full of praise for this unique ensemble of talented students from rural India and around the world. Following this, Sadguru initiated the exchange of an MoU between the Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence and HKU University for Arts Utrecht. He then promised to send some of the students to Netherlands to learn and play music together with the students at HKU.
Sadguru emphasized that there is no room for ego in an orchestra, and that all need to work together to sound harmonious. He said that this was also the message for the world! Music always unifies everyone, no matter where they are from.
