About the job

The Operations Officer will support the overall operations, communications, and day-to-day activities of SGAC in collaboration with different SGAC Executive Office Teams. This operational role will seek to ensure that communication and workflow are streamlined and tasks are delivered in a timely manner and with SGAC quality standards.

The SGAC Operations Officer will work with and report to the SGAC Chief of Staff, Valentina Luchetti.

This is a paid, full-time position (40 hours/week). The SGAC Operations Officer will work from the SGAC Office in Vienna, Austria. The SGAC Operations Officer will work as a consultant and will be required to undertake all necessary steps relating to any taxes and/or other duties by themselves.

Responsibilities

The Operations Officer will be responsible for operations and communication at SGAC. Among other items, the tasks for this role include:

  • Supporting the Co-Chairs, Executive Director and Chief of Staff on operational matters

  • Supporting the day-to-day operational activities of SGAC

  • Leading the following SGAC Teams & Positions and coordinating their activities:

SGAC Executive Secretaries

SGAC PR & Communications Team

SGAC Reports Team

SGAC Web & Data Team

  • Support the day-to-day operational activities of the following Teams and positions:

SGAC Global, Regional, and Local Events

SGAC HR Team

SGAC Scholarships Team

Launch Operations Manager at Equatorial Launch Australia’s (ELA)

About the job

The ELA Launch Operation Manager (LOM) is responsible for the preparation and operational readiness of the Launch Control Center (LCC), the interface with either the clients Mission Control Centre (MCC) or the joint user MCC.

The LOM is also responsible for the operations prior to and on day of launch for the payload preparation and integrity checks, launch vehicle preparation and delivery in a launch ready state to the launch pad, and the integration and readiness of the launch pad and its associated systems.

This role work very closely with the Customer and Site Liaison Officer and the client’s launch operation manager.

Requirements

  • 8+ years’ experience delivering in a similar role

  • Relevant qualifications relating to Range Operations, Safety, Emergency Response,

  • Training and Assessing, Incident Investigation

  • Desirable to have experience with explosive handling and storage

  • An absolute commitment to safety

  • Demonstrated ability to influence a team to achieve positive business outcomes

  • Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions under pressure, balancing competing priorities and demands

  • Ability to develop working knowledge of our clients ground handling, dangerous goods, security, and emergency response policies and procedures

  • You don’t know the phrase “that’s not my job” and are a real “can do “ person.

  • You’re fun and casual but very good at what you do.

  • You will be hardworking and a team player, looking to become part of a vibrant and supportive team. You are comfortable engaging with people both internally and

  • externally and will have a strong technical grounding to support hitting the ground running as well as the opportunity for further growth in your career.
