Feliz Año Nuevo (Happy New Year) once again from our family to yours. We hope you have entered this year refreshed, rejuvenated, and renewed from the typically busy holiday season. Regardless, we pray blessings over you and your family and that this year is fruitful, restful, and overall, impactful for His Kingdom!

We are incredibly excited to officially own land where we can soon build the children’s homes! Our hearts,
more than ever, have been heavy for the children and families we will be serving at the Abraham Project
Panama. Many, if not all, of these families, will be lost and broken trying to survive this world without Christ. Join me in prayer for their souls now! I am eager for them to hear the Good News of Christ and pray that their hearts, eyes, and ears will be open to receive the truth. I’m reminded of Matthew 9:36 and 15:32 when Jesus saw the crowds and had “compassion for them” for they were “like sheep without a shepherd.” This is the compassion and heaviness I feel in my heart for these hurting (physically, emotionally, mentally) families of Panama. The harvest is plentiful here, but the workers are few (Matthew 9:37). We are blessed, privileged, and honored to be serving in this capacity but we could not be here without your help, so thank you for your continued prayers and support! In addition to praying for these families, please also pray as we make the crucial decision of which architect firm and building company we will hire, getting us closer to realizing the vision God has placed in our hearts.

As for family updates, Noah seems to be more and more like a sponge every day, eager to learn new songs, words (both English and Spanish), and always up for a challenge. He will attend a summer school program (it’s a “summer” break here in Panama) for 3 weeks. Please pray he adapts well to the first real “school” setting that will be mainly in Spanish. Ezra has recently turned 16 months old. As much as he has been progressing, he still doesn’t walk independently. We had noticed for a few months that his feet and ankles bowed inward. His pediatrician recommended a Pediatric Orthopedic specialist where he was later diagnosed with a deformation on the cartilages of the inside of his feet. The deformation does not require surgical intervention at this time (and may not need it at all as time will tell) but it does require physical therapy (PT). Our first session of PT went very well and as a mother, I feel more equipped to better help my child achieve this important milestone. Prayers are always appreciated as we try to navigate this unfamiliar territory. We trust God. He is the same God who takes care of the birds in the sky, so how much more will he take care of us, right (Matthew 6:26)?

Lastly, for our holiday break, we went to Costa Rica to spend time with Stephen’s side of the family. It was great seeing my in-laws, Steve and Georgiana, and my brother/sisters-in-law. Noah and Ezra had a blast playing with their cousin and creating memories with their aunts and uncles they don’t get to see as often. We have done several trips this past year mainly for fundraising and though they were productive and we are grateful, they have not been restful. This trip though was truly restful. Even though we got sick a few times with minor colds/bugs, the Lord blessed us with time to really enjoy family. It was still busy trying to see and meet up with friends, but the pace felt slower and less stressful for which I am grateful. In addition, we spent Noah’s 3rd birthday (on January 2) with the in-laws! We woke up early to go to a local beach then had hot dogs and homemade ice cream cake for dinner! He loved his gifts, especially his wooden train set from us! Our little boy is getting so big!

How can we pray for you?

As I wrap up, please know, we pray for everyone on our newsletter list, that includes you and your family! If you have any prayer requests heavy in your hearts, we would love to hear them to better pray for you. We are the body of Christ, so let us unite together in prayer, thanksgiving, and praise to our Father in Heaven (1 Corinthians 12:27)! We love you and are thankful for you! God bless!
