Over the following months, the Evergreen Connection will feature projects from around the State. The first spotlight is with Seattle Golf Club.
In 2022, Seattle Golf Club introduced a newly renovated golf course complete with 18 new green complexes, several new fairway bunkers and multiple new tee locations. “My goal was to add more pinnable area and setup variety while retaining the essence of Seattle Golf Club’s bold, flowing green slopes and contours,” says project designer Thad Layton, Senior Golf Architect & Vice President of Arnold Palmer Design Company.
The primary objectives in terms of specific projects were: -Renovate greenside bunkers -Restore green surrounds -Regain lost edges of greens and remove collar dams -Increase pinnable square footage where possible, providing more pin positions -Maintain SGC architecture and challenge of small, sloped greens
