SECA Plays
January 2023 Update

TODAYS's Campfire and Skate event has been POSTPONED due to the extreme cold.

Join us February 4th AND February 25th at the rinks beside Our Lady of Peace School on Millrise Hill SW.

Thanks to the City of Calgary and our Ward 13 Councillor, Dan McLean for their support through a Ward Community Event Fund grant.

Thanks to Shield Roofing and Exteriors and TELUS, community-minded organizations that are supporting the Campfire & Skating events.

in the Shawnee Blvd. Park
It was our biggest turnout ever!
We saw lots of new faces as well as some regulars.

ANNOUNCING NEW DATES for SECA's Outdoor Children's Programs

These monthly programs are hosted by SECA free of charge thanks to our casino funds. The programs are delivered by brilliant educators. Check out their websites!

These programs are a great opportunity to meet others who live in the community, find new friends and build a community that is safe and welcoming for children and families.

Everyone is welcome at no charge. To ensure program sustainability, participants are encouraged to become Regular Members (residents) or Associate Members (non-residents) at a cost of just $20 for 12 months.

News from the SECA Board

1/ The SECA Board is planning an ambitious year. To fulfill our plans, we are seeking new board and committee volunteers. To learn more, please email info@shawneeevergreen.ca.

2/ We are looking forward to the spring launch of our new website. Yahoo! After considering several options, Gumbuddies, a local web designer, won the contract.

If you have photos depicting community activities and landscapes that would be suitable for the new website, please send them to the address above. Thank you!

3/ Plans are already underway for our Stampede Festival on June 24. Would you like to join our committee?

4/ We have applied to the City to host a Community Clean Up in the fall of 2023. City workers were impressed with our 2022 event last so we hope to be awarded a 2023 event.

SECA is building a neighbourly community where residents feel a sense of belonging and community pride.
