“We can do it ourselves!” These were the words we were delighted to hear from the local ladies when they announced they would host two sewing trainings on their own. Unfortunately, due to the current tense political and social situation here in Peru, in January the American Sewing with a Mission team had to make the difficult decision not to come.
We worked with the Peruvian ladies and put together a budget to show the American team, requesting a little bit of financial support out of the funds that had already been raised for the Americans’ trip. The sewing training will now be three days in Trujillo, and then a group of ladies from Trujillo will travel with us and Oscar and Rebekah to Yungay to do another training the following week.
Thank you to the SWAM team for still making these sewing trainings possible even though they cannot be here in person. Please be praying for these exciting Peruvian-led teams this month!
