We are halfway through the school year!

Reminders:
  1. The first school closure of second semester is a SNOW DAY - no work will be required. Any closure thereafter is a School at Home Day.
  2. Existing families, register your next child (i.e., those not currently at TDChristian) by clicking here or clicking on the "Existing families: Click here to register your next child" button found under the photos on the Splash! Page. Early bird deadline is February 15.
PRAISE and PETITION

Semester 1 is done! We thank God for his goodness and his faithfulness as we continue to learn for service in the light of God's Word.

We look forward to welcoming our new students. We wish those leaving all the best.

We welcome Ms. Angela De Caro who will join our teaching staff on Feb. 6.

We welcome Mr. Tim Cheung who will be an educational assistant in the Learning Commons on Mondays and Tuesdays. 

We are thankful that Mr. Kooy, who had a mild heart attack last Sunday, has returned home. He will be away until at least March 21. Please pray for a full recovery. 

Mrs. Ellens, the mother of Librarian and Archivist, Ms. Knibbe died this past week. Her father is also in palliative care. Please pray for the Ellens family.

Mr. Fred Reinders, TDChristian's first Board Chair, died this past week. The Reinders have been faithful and dedicated Christian school supporters for over six decades for which we are thankful. Please pray for Mrs. Jane Reinders and the family.  

Learning Reports will be posted in Edsby on Feb. 7 and mailed to homes the week of Feb. 13. The make-up day for students who were unable to attend the Final Evaluations on Fri., Jan. 27 is Tues., Feb. 7. We pray that they may do well as they complete first semester later than most students.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Come to CELEBRATIONS OF LEARNING at THE WINTER OPEN HOUSE on Thurs., Feb. 9 at 6:30 a.m.(the event was moved due to the school closure on Jan. 19) and earn two Parent-Guardian Volunteer hours.

UP & COMING

SEMESTER 1 LEARNING REPORTS will be posted in Edsby on Tues., Feb. 7. Paper copies will mailed the week of Feb. 13. This is a later date due to the school closure of Jan. 26 which delayed some final evaluations until Feb. 7.

CELEBRATIONS OF LEARNING AND THE WINTER OPEN HOUSE has been moved to Thurs., Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m. Invite families with students in Grades 6, 7, and 8 to attend, as well as families with students in other high schools to learn more about TDChristian High School education. This is the same night as the TRIP MEETING for the March Break Trip, which is scheduled for 7 p.m..

TDChristian's TALENT NIGHT is on Thurs., Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. When tickets become available on EventBrite, an Edsby message will be sent to TDChristian students, parents, and guardians. Space is limited to the number of seats in the Presentation Centre. Students interested in sharing their talents should read the daily announcements to find out about auditioning.

COURSE SELECTIONS SHEETS FOR 2023-24 will be handed out the week of Feb. 13. Guidance counsellors will explain the process to students in Grades 9 to 11. Grade 12 students who wish to return for a fifth-year should contact Guidance or Mr. Groot. 

On Thurs., Feb. 23, at 6:30 p.m. we are hosting a CAREERS and COURSE SELECTIONS NIGHT (focus is for on Grade 10). Yes, it's the same night at TALENT NIGHT to save driving. Please RSVP to vanschepen@tdchristian.ca. Familes who attend can earn TWO Parent/Guardian Volunteer Hours.

  • Tours starting at 2 p.m.
  • At 5 p.m., mingle and celebrate with past and current TDChristian students, families, supporters, and staff members.
  • At 7 p.m., we will have a program with speakers, videos, and more celebrating God's faithfulness to TDChristian through the years.

FIRE HALL THRIFT (FHT)

CHECK OUT THE STORE! Every day it gets better thanks to the work of volunteers and our new supervisor, Sandra Allen. Come and buy!

A kettle, microwave, and fridge are now at FHT. Thanks to those who donated.

FHT needs (click here to email Sandra or BRING them to the store or school):
  1. LARGE and sturdy boxes or BINS (about laundry basket size). Lids are optional.
  2. Packing paper such as NEWSPAPERS, TISSUE PAPER, or similar. 

We can ALWAYS use more volunteers. Help the THRIFT STORE thrive at home or at the store. GET INVOLVED by clicking here.
