Happy New Year and welcome back!
I hope you all had a wonderful time with family and friends and are ready to get back to footy.
Planning and preparations for a super 2023 season are well underway. 
Thank you to everyone who has registered. 
Registrations 2023 - our EARLY BIRD offer closes on Monday February 6th.
Early registration helps us ensure that all teams are entered, coaches, team managers, trainers etc are appointed, grounds are allocated for training and we can have your hoodies, bonus merchandise, playing jumpers, shorts, socks etc ready to go!
Please help us help you by registering today.

Pre Season Training 2023
We are planning to commence informal pre season training from Monday February 13th for all interested players from U8-U12 at JL Murphy Reserve. This will involve running and fitness activities plus a range of ball skill drills on Aanenson oval. As players register you will be notified via TeamApp of all times and plans. Formal in-season training will commence after the March long weekend from Tuesday March 14th with teams allocated official training times and locations.
Please note that some U13+ teams have already notified players of pre season training sessions. Make sure you have registered to receive all notifications.

Season Launch Event
We are ready to launch Footy Season 2023 at the Colts on Sunday - February 12th 🚀🔵🔴
See you at JL Murphy Reserve from 1pm - 4pm for a great afternoon of footy, entertainment and fun.

Some important dates coming up:
  • Sunday February 12th 1pm – 4pm Season Launch Day
  • Monday February 13th - informal pre season training commences 
  • Monday March 20th – First Aid training session 1 in clubrooms. Time TBC
  • Saturday March 25th – coaching masterclass 8.30am – 12 noon at Murphy Reserve. 
  • Sunday March 26th – Practice Matches TBC
  • Monday March 27th – clubrooms – team manager training. Time TBC
  • Monday April 3rd – volunteer welcome night – Limerick Arms hotel South Melbourne
  • Sunday April 23rd - Round 1
  • Monday 24th April – first aid session 2 for any trainers not captured for session 1
So much happening and loads of volunteers needed to make it all happen for our kids.

Please note:
This year we see registrations move to a new platform PlayHQ (not Gameday). To register for 2023, click on the link below and use the same name, date of birth and the same email address used last year (on Gameday) to register.
If you cannot remember your email or need to change it, please contact clubhelp@afl.com.au who can update this before a registration is commenced. Alternatively call 1800 PLAY AFL (1800 75 29 235)

Registration fees for upcoming 2023 season are as follows:
  • Returning Players - $230 + $50 SMJFL Levy = $280
  • New Players - $270 + $50 SMJFL Levy = $320
The $50 SMJFL levy is a league fee.
  • Family Discount – 25% discount per sibling provided the same e-mail address is used at the time of registration. For more details see website
  • 6 Game Membership - restricted to 6 games. Upgrade to full membership required to play 7 or more games. For more details see website
  • U10 Girls Membership – to encourage girls to give footy a go we are offering a special fee of $150 ($100 + $50 SMJFL Fee). For more details  see website
Alliance Teams 2023
All players are required to register with their home club for our alliance teams in 2023.

AFL VICTORIA 'FOOTY 4 FUN' SESSION AT OUR SEASON LAUNCH DAY - SUNDAY FEBRUARY 12TH
AFL ACADEMY LAUNCHES AT PORT MELBOURNE SECONDARY COLLEGE

We are really excited about this!!!
The Port Melbourne Secondary College (Port) AFL Academy allows students to pursue their passion for Australian Rules Football League (AFL) in a professional environment. Working in partnership with the Port Melbourne Colts Junior Football Club, students will train with high level coaches and former AFL / AFLW players to develop their football skills within the framework of a structured and well-established football community. 

Students who participate in the Academy will build their fitness in a fun, team environment, developing game awareness, leadership and teamwork skills. They will also form connections with the Port Melbourne Borough, the region’s Victorian Football League (VFL), providing potential pathways into the VFL / VFLW and higher level competition opportunities. 

The Port AFL Academy is open to interested students of all skill levels, and is a fee for service program. The Academy program runs for 32 weeks in the school year, with students attending two, 90 minute training sessions each week.
