The 16th RIAL Call for Bilateral Cooperation is NOW open!
|
|
The 16th RIAL Call for Bilateral Cooperation was launched on January 20 and will remain open until March 1, 2023, covering all areas of labor administration. We invite all Ministries of Labor of the Americas to submit proposals to receive and provide technical assistance with their peers in the region and strengthen their programs and services.
This February 3, a Virtual Webinar will be held to explain in detail the requirements to apply and identify cooperation partners.
The guidelines detailing the requirements to participate in the 16th Call, including the application form, can be found below.
We encourage all areas of Ministries in the region to participate!

IACML Authorities guide activities for 2023
According to the Work Plan 2022-2024, the Meeting of Authorities of the Inter-American Conference of Ministries of Labor (IACML) was held on January 27, with the participation of the Ministries of Labor that lead the process, as well as authorities from COSATE, CEATAL and the Technical Secretariat. At this meeting, the Authorities monitored the performance of the Work Plan 2022-2024, which was 100% fulfilled during 2022, and made decisions on the activities contemplated for 2023.

RIAL Portfolio of Programs, a tool to identify partners for the 16th Call
The RIAL Portfolio of Programs, located on the RIAL website, continues to be updated by the Ministries of Labor of the region. This Portfolio, which contains initiatives implemented by the Ministries, including their objectives, results and challenges, is a great tool to identify partners for the 16th RIAL/OAS Call for Bilateral Cooperation.
We invite officials from the Ministries to review the programs in the Portfolio and update them to reflect current programs.

Alfonso Adianzén Ojeda takes office as Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion in Peru
Mr. Alfonso Adianzén Ojeda took office on January 13, 2023 as Peru´s Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion, as part of President Dina Boluarte's cabinet. Mr. Adianzén Ojeda is a lawyer by profession and has extensive experience in various public institutions. He was previously appointed to the position of Vice Minister in charge of Labor, Employment and Labor Training. Finally, he has held senior management positions as Secretary General of the Ministry of Production, Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, and the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion.

Discussions on the future of work at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting
During the week of January 16 to 20, 2023, the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum was held in Davos, Switzerland. During the event, the challenges currently facing the labor market with the development of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, and the implications it has on the automation of creative or complex cognitive tasks, were discussed. Additionally, the benefits that the inclusion of the metaverse could have in labor relations were mentioned, including its contributions to connect labor supply and demand and contribute to the training and reskilling of workers.
