Persistence and Payoffs

It's the dark days of winter in the Northern hemisphere. My brain function and mood tend to come and go with the sun and the sun has been in short supply. I know I can't be the only one affected this way.

So - I get done what I must. I start with small things. And I'm also stitching. Slowly. Meditating on what I'm doing, what I've done, what I wish to do. And often, simply resting my mind.

pile of fabric, black and brown shibori dyed, embroidery thread, linen squares with mill wheel printed and added embroidery
Aerodynamically, the bumble bee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumble bee doesn't know it so it goes on flying anyway.
- Mary Kay Ash

As I work I remind myself of how much I love you all.

You are a very good reason to keep plodding along. I'll have more done soon. I'm still working away behind the scenes on offering new resources this year to you, my artist friends. There are good things coming and the sun will rise tomorrow.

What makes it hard for you to create?
How do you get through it?

Will You Help Me
Share Our Love of Art Quilting?

I've got more room in my schedule for Live Virtual lectures and workshops this year and I'd love to come play with your people!
  • Watch the video and choose your favorite lecture or workshop!
  • Forward this email to your guild officer, letting them know which class or lecture you like best and ask them to contact me.
  • Grab 7-10 friends, choose a workshop you all want to do together, send me an email and I'll schedule a virtual workshop for you.
  • Share this newsletter with a friend and invite them to subscribe. Pick an upcoming show to enter and encourage each other to meet the deadline and get your work out there!
