2023 Chesapeake Open: Registration Open
 Registration for the 2023 Chesapeake Open, June 21-24 at The Gardens Ice House, is now open on USFS EMS and we hope many of our members will want to compete. We are offering events at all levels of freestyle, dance (solo and partnered) and Basic Skills/Compete USA and will be part of the USFS Solo Dance Series. We also hope that many of our members will volunteer. This is our major fundraiser of the year and we need the help of all of our members to make it a success. Volunteers will be needed for ice monitoring, registration, hospitality, awards, and more. Watch for more details coming soon.
BFSC Hosts Special Visitor
On Sunday, February 5 during our high school session, BFSC hosted Noah, a 9-year-old boy battling Batten Disease. One of Noah's goals is to learn how to skate, and Coach Bridget and our skaters gave him a lesson. Noah was also presented with a hoodie emblazoned with his name and the BFSC logo and was named an honorary member of BFSC.
 
Postcard: Disney on Ice
Longtime BFSC member Maya Jones has spent the past seven months traveling North America with Disney on Ice's Road Trip Adventures show. Maya auditioned for the show following her graduation from UMBC and has found the show to be a great next step in her skating accomplishments, which also include two medals at the U.S. Collegiate Championships and gold test medals in MIF, FS and solo dance.
In 221 shows in 29 cities, including several in Canada, Maya has had the opportunity to perform multiple roles. The show's 50 cast members travel to a new city each week, with time for sightseeing amid rehearsals and performances.
 
BFSC Fundraiser - March 13 at Chipotle
Don't forget! BFSC has organized a fundraiser tonight, 4-8 p.m., at the Chipotle at 7711 Harford Road. Located less than 10 minutes from Mt. Pleasant, it is a convenient stop before or after club ice. 33% of our purchases will be donated to BFSC; in order to receive credit, either present this flyer (if ordering on site) or use code 43VMZFC (if ordering online).
We also continue to welcome donations through Venmo or check. BFSC is a 501(c)(3) organization and your tax-deductible contributions enable us to provide ice time, test sessions and other activities. For more information, contact info@baltimorefigureskatingclub.com
Club Ice Survey
All skaters should have received a survey about their plans for summer skating. Please take a moment to respond so that the Board can plan ice time and test sessions to meet member needs.
Stars on Ice Group Ticket Deadline Extended
The deadline to purchase BFSC group tickets to Stars on Ice, June 2 at the CFG Bank Arena (new Baltimore Arena), has been extended to March 17. Tickets are either $50 or $85 and can be purchased by emailing sam@simplytixs.com. Let him know your group (Baltimore skate group), name, address, phone number and number of tickets and he will call you to complete your order.
Elections Coming Soon: Seeking BFSC Board Members
The BFSC Board of Directors is a dedicated group of volunteers working together to support our members in their skating goals. Each year, the club elects board members for two-year terms. We are now electing three board members to serve until December 2024. Do you have the time and interest to serve on the board and help make BFSC the best club it can be? Test Session
Our next test session is Saturday, April 15, noon-2 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant. We can offer MIF, FS and Dance through Senior/Gold level. Payment can be made via Venmo or Zelle and is due with your application.

High School Skating
All high school students are invited to skate on Sundays at Mt. Pleasant, 5:15 - 6:10 p.m. Our current session runs through April 16, followed by a 4-week session, April 23-May 14. Cost is $70 per 7-week session/$40 per 4-week session, $13 walk-on per week. All levels welcome.
Texas Roadhouse Gift Card Fundraiser
BFSC is selling $25 gift cards to Texas Roadhouse as a fundraiser. 10% of the cost is donated to BFSC. You may purchase cards during club ice times or email info@baltimorefigureskatingclub.com.
