Equitable and Affordable Solutions to Electrification (EAS-E) Prize
The Equitable and Affordable Solutions to Electrification (EAS-E) Home Electrification Prize provides up to $2.4 million in prizes for innovative solutions that advance electrification retrofits of residential homes across all building types and geographies.
The goal of the EAS-E Prize is to support a suite of design solutions, tools, and/or technology innovations that make electrification more affordable and accessible in existing U.S. homes. Through this prize, the U.S. Department of Energy Building Technologies Office aims to create more opportunities and successes for electrification of the U.S. housing stock with a focus on equitable solutions for all homeowners—not only through affordability, but also by enabling solutions specific to dwellings more common in low-income and under-resourced communities. In some homes, load reduction strategies (e.g., building envelope upgrades) can also improve the reliability, affordability, and performance of electrification upgrades.

Perovskite Startup Prize
The American-Made Perovskite Startup Prize is a $3 million prize competition designed to accelerate the growth of the U.S. perovskite industry and support the rapid development of solar cells and modules that use perovskite materials. Through two contests, established perovskite researchers will launch a company and move toward commercialization in under a year.
As part of the American-Made Challenges series, the Perovskite Startup Prize unites the world’s best-in-class research base with the unparalleled entrepreneurial support system of the American-Made Network. Consisting of pioneering maker spaces, dozens of energy incubators, universities, and 17 U.S. Department of Energy national laboratories, the Network is primed to assist entrepreneurs in bringing perovskite-focused concepts to market.

Chevron Studio
Chevron Studio is a one-of-a-kind program in partnership with Chevron Technology Ventures and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) designed to help entrepreneurs build companies by linking them with world-class, early-stage technologies developed at national labs and universities. The program provides assistance to the entrepreneurs to help them scale up and commercialize these technologies.
Chevron Studio is initially focusing on the following areas of interest:
- Carbon utilization
- Hydrogen and renewable energy
- Energy storage systems
- Solutions for a circular economy
Chevron Studio is seeking available entrepreneurs to select technologies from a curated list of intellectual property (IP) collected from participating universities and national labs to build business and technology scale-up plans during the Discovery Phase of the Chevron Studio program. The award for this phase includes $40,000 for the entrepreneur and $5,000 for the IP inventor.

The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Technology Transitions (OTT), in partnership with FedTech, are excited to present the DOE Emerging Tech Studio.
