SUNDAY BLAST
February 12, 2023

Greetings, Wolverines. Well, here we are again. Not much to say so I'll give you the information about Monday.

Doors open at Weber's ballroom at 10 am. Meal choices are Turkey or Baked Salmon, Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus. The basketball speaker will be Erin Batth, Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator, Women's Basketball, and the second speaker will be Jan Dowling, Women's Golf. The golf team has had a pretty good season so it will be interesting to hear what Jan has to say. Men's Basketball is traveling.

Now, our other sports. Michigan Men's Basketball. A real heartbreaker. Michigan 61, Indiana 62. Hunter Dickenson posted 16 points, Kobe Bufkin and Jett Howard had 14 points and 12 points respectively. Terri's Reed, Jr. had eight points and five rebounds. It looked like the team was doing well and then, Indiana started catching up. Not the end of the season but it seems so. Next game on Saturday against MSU. That should be interesting.

Women's Basketball scored another win today against Nebraska. Michigan 80, Nebraska 75. A great game with 4,313 fans in attendance. Today was pink day with Cancer survivors in bright pink, joined by their many supporters. A disease that strikes us all. Leigh's had her fifth double double and scored 21 points. Emily Kiser scored 15 points. In fact, the entire team was on fire, providing an exciting day at Crisler. Nebraska put up a great fight, but Michigan proved victorious. This is their fourth consecutive win.

Men's hockey had a great weekend, first in East Lansing and then at the D, winning the game on Saturday in third overtime with six seconds left, scoring and winning 4-3 both Friday and Saturday. Sixth straight win at the D. So many wins for Michigan this weekend. Z total of 24 events. Check your email for scores.

We were advised by one of our members about an article indicating that our men's basketball speaker may have Covid. I immediately contacted those who were around the podium including our rowing speaker and everyone is fine. Although Washtenaw County is in the green zone regarding Covid, the responsibility continues to be with each of us. Masking is so common that no one really pays attention to who is wearing a mask. We have lots of seniors st our luncheons and we urge you all to play it safe.

Many of you have given me information about tickets you would like to sell. I will continue to announce them but often, the ticket price is reduced to $1 by the marketing department and it is difficult to get rid of the tickets at the purchased price. The University of Michigan Ticket Office monitors StubHub so it's probably a good place to sell your tickets, although there is a cost.

Joyce Galindo and Sheila McCay have been working diligently, putting together Michigan items that you have brought in. It's not too late. Keep on bringing them. We only ask that they be clean and in good repair. Check out some items:

A reminder that the Spring Game is April 1 and our Spring Luncheon will be April 3. Coach Harbaugh has announced that Jake Moody will be the Michigan Man this year and Dave Ablauf will be bringing Jake to the Luncheon. The guest speakers will be announced soon.

It seems like Spring is in the air, but beware...it ain't over 'till it's over! This is Michigan. Thanks to those of you who have contacted me regarding items of an historical nature. Please keep checking. It's our MClub history and it's important to keep. Hope you enjoyed the Super Bowl, at least the commercials. Go Blue.
