We are excited to announce an updated criteria and process for our Honours and Awards. We are committed to recognising the outstanding service and commitment given by members of our swimming community to Swimming NZ.

In the past, it has potentially been too complicated to complete the nomination process or the criteria hasn’t been clear, so we have made improvements to make the process of receiving recognition quicker and easier.

Swimming NZ’s Head of Participation & Events, Dale Johnson, is hoping to see a large increase in the number of nominations this year.

 

“We are really proud of these improvements to our Honours & Awards. There are so many members of the community who have given a lot to swimming, and we want to recognise their contributions to our sport. I urge everyone to nominate people within the community who meet the criteria.”

 

The nomination process now requires an online form to be filled out. It’s simple and easy to do, and we encourage people to nominate themselves if they have met the criteria also.

The nomination period closes on Wednesday 1 March, with the recognition of service to be announced at the upcoming 2023 Apollo Projects NZ Swimming Championships.
