Well here it is! My weekly blog, or Captain's Log, words, or some might call it "Rham's Rhamblings."  But, at the end of the day, it's all in good fun (and sometimes humor), and, all FOR YOUR INFORMATION (FYI) which is the most important part of all, and boy (and girl) do I have some info for you this week! Not really much different than any other week. Activities around abound with sound! What sound? Don't you hear it? LISTEN! It's the sound of the fun train. Did you know there was such a thing??? Well heck ya! And, on occasion, I'm the conductor! Those are really the days I'd suggest buying a ticket. Those are the days the ride will be a bit more entertaining. Bumpier? Yes. But in a massaging sort of bumpy. Like, the kind of bumps that could work out some kinks in a stiff neck after good day of bad golf. (You're playing golf. It's a good day. You're fine). So, where was I? Ah ha! FYI, (you've really lucked out today) I'm the conductor! (See, pays to wake up early. I do it every day. I'm searching for other early birds seeking worms who might need some direction or insight as to where to GOOD worms are. See, I've got intel on the premium worms.)
Sorry, warp, glitch. CLEAR!

Conductor, me, today, Rham driving, steering, deciding where to stop, if to stop and exit or to keep on truckin' (both acceptable) but allow me to pause a moment and reflect upon the days past. How many days? I have no idea. What day is it? Does it matter? Kinda not really. Having a Monday on a Thursday shouldn't matter if all today is.... is today. "What day is it?" Why, it's today. Today is what we'll tackle. But, because some of you read these things at different days and times and what-not, I figure it's better to be more thorough in my explanations --

First, The Mill & Exchange at the Bakery District is officially open for business, available for lease, ready for WORK to be done. The Mill is the new co-working space in Downtown Fort Smith that has proven to be something that was really wanted and needed. With 3 tiers of membership, you've got options. The one that I think will be most popular is our "social membership" that gives you access to the facility 24/7 in any of the available open seating. Amenities: Cool and comfortable (and the regular stuff like print copies, and coffee and sometimes donuts,  etc) but the biggest benefit is being inside a LIVING, BREATHING building that SCREAMS creativity. YELLS to organize, collaborate, create; SHOUTS "let's get to work building it today." .....$100/mo no contract.

Go work! Co-work! It's a moving piece. It's social experiment that I not only am helping facilitate and administer, but also I'm acting as a crash test dummy... and I'm no dummy. I've been tested 4 times and everyone knows they throw out your two lowest scores so I feel pretty confident on this one.

"Let's get to work building it today."

What is IT? You tell me. Sure, I could take a detour here and tell you of my dreams and hopes and what-not, but I'd rather YOU think about that yourself. Today is a great day to start building it. Today. Honestly, right now. I'll wait. No, I tell ya what. I'm not going to wait, but I am going to help clear the path so that should you want to follow, no rush, it's clear, smooth; there's no briars and thorns or those sticky things you get on the bottoms of your bare feet when walking on the grass during the hot summertime. And, to help along your journey, I've even taken the liberty to fill in a few pot holes along the way. Now, granted, I am actually the one who made the pot holes, driving a dern dump truck full of a hot mess, on to a surface that just wasn't quite ready. I sorta do that. But I'm always there to shovel shale.

SATURDAY!!!!!! THIS SATURDAY!! Like, February 18th, 11AM, bring the little ones down to Bookish at the Bakery District for STORYTIME w/ RHAM where I'll be behind the mic, I mean book, reading a couple of our favorites... I'm bringin' my little un. I suggest you bring yours. Otherwise, it's me reading children's books to a bunch of adults. That's fine. I'll do whatever. But if I do the voices, just act a little bit impressed.

Other stuff happening around the area previewed below. If you love Fort Smith, Love Fort Smith Out Loud! This week's LOVE FORT SMITH LOUD AWARD goes to.... (there's really not such an award, but there should be and I should create it, and I just did and the LOVE FORT SMITH OUT LOUD AWARD goes to... Chris Marley with Fort Smith Restaurant Supply. He came in and spent a large portion of the day programming and setting up our new coffee pot at the Mill. I think he understands the importance of coffee in general, and the need for such a thing is such a space as the Mill, also, it was just a super cool thing to do. Thanks, Chris - the staff and the tenants appreciate you!

Until next week.....um, make sure not to miss the show at the Little Theatre!! Just a few more chances!!
