A Reminder Regarding Morning Parking Lot

Drop Off Procedures: (See Map on Below)
Primary entrance is from Sutter Street at the opening closest to the Rectory
Primary exit is onto Sutter Street at the remaining opening

Parents/Guardians are to pull into the primary entrance, circle around to the right, pulling in front of the handicap parking stalls and drop child off in the “Child Drop Off Zone” and then proceed down to the first row of parking stalls, turn left and proceed out through the Primary exit.  CHILDREN MAY NOT EXIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF THE GARAGES.

Have your child(ren) exit from the right side of the car (not left hand side) and have their backpack and lunch pail in the seat with them so that you do not have to park the car and open the trunk to retrieve their items.  All items should be with them in their seat so that they may exit the car with ease and safety.

For parents/guardians who wish to park and walk their child onto the school grounds, enter the parking lot through the Fulton/San Joaquin St. entrance, park in the parking stalls located in that row of stalls so that no one will be walking through the “Child Drop Off Zone” or drive through area.  Walk up the church steps and into the gym. This is not a drive through area, all cars must park.

The gym opens each day at 7:00 AM; extended daycare rates apply until 7:30 AM.

In addition to following the map of flow you may aide the process by:
  • Preparing your child with all last minute instructions before arriving at the Child Drop Off Zone.
  • Review safety instructions with your child(ren)

Accreditation Visit - This Week

On Wednesday, February 15, we welcome our Visiting Committee for the three-day visit portion of our accreditation process. We will introduce them to the student body at a special morning assembly for morning announcements. Prior to their arrival, they spent time reading and re-reading our Self Study. Throughout the day, the four-person Visiting Committee will visit classes and meet with students and our pastor. In the evenings, they will meet with parents from our school’s Catholic School Advisory Council. After meeting with our pastor on Thursday, they will continue with visits as they write their report, which will be completed on Friday. The School Leadership Team will review the report, along with our pastor and the diocesan accreditation commissioner. It will be presented to the faculty and staff Friday after school. The final copy of the report will arrive within a few weeks, and we will be honored to post it for the school community to review. You can read more about the Accreditation Process by following the Link to Western Catholic Accreditation Association (WCEA) http://www.wcea.org/.

A really big thank-you goes to all the faculty and staff for the past 19 months of hard work in writing the Self Study and for preparing for the upcoming visit. Our Leadership Team kept us all on track with deadlines and meetings, even in the midst of the challenges with COVID and the normal busyness of the school year.

When was the last time you reviewed the Schoolwide Learning Expectations (SLEs) with your children? Now is a great time! Our students strive to be:  problem solvers, responsible citizens, active Christians, involved individuals, successful lifelong learners, and effective communicators! Ask them about our Mission Statement too.

We are working on being Active Christians. We want to live our lives as a Catholic not only on campus, but off-campus as well. Have you asked your child how they have been an Active Christian? This is our third Schoolwide Learning Expectation (SLE). They should be practicing their faith, not only on campus, but off-campus as well. Have a talk with them. May our time in prayer together, especially with the Eucharist, draw us deeper into the love of God and love of neighbor!  Mary, Help of Christians, pray for us!
