Our mission at First Parish Church in Taunton is to

This Sunday in Youth Faith Formation
The theme of the month is Love, and this week both Chalice Children and Jr. Youth will be exploring the ways that we must love ourselves in order to be able to love others.
Chalice Children will be playing games that help them focus on being true to themselves and loving themselves exactly as they are.
Jr. Youth will begin with a game that helps them explore how they are loving themselves and becoming who they want to be. They will then move on to an affirmation project that they can then take home and use daily.
Sr. Youth will be exploring the third Taking Flight Workshop: The Language of Sexuality - Youth will explore the diversity of sexual language and its impact, usefulness, and appropriateness in different contexts. After building lists of terms for sexual anatomy and activity, participants consider the language they and others use against the values they explored in Workshop 2. Standards are set for the language that will be used in the Taking Flight setting.
Childcare Staff: Emily Keegan and Holly Griffith
Leading Chalice Children: Bri LaBrie
Leading Jr. Youth: Lori McNally
Leading Sr. Youth: April Rosario and Danielle Hazen

This Week in Adult Faith Formation
This week our Adult Faith Formation Roots Class explored our personal free and responsible search for truth and meaning, a central UU value that comes to us from William Ellery Channing’s Unitarian theology of freedom. Who is William Ellery Channing? Channing has been called the “single most important figure in the history of American Universalism,” he argued that we must use reason and conscience to find our way to spiritual truth. This week's Faith at Home asks participants to write a brief description of a book, movie, song, or another resource that has offered them guidance or inspiration and the truth they gained from it.

YOU are the Church! And we want to hear from you!
Erica Baron, from the UUA New England Region will be facilitating a conversation in small groups on two separate dates. The first was on this past Sunday, Feb. 12th. The second one will be in person after church on February 19th at 11:30AM. Come share your voice in reflection on the congregation’s present and future - this is open to all who care about and actively support the First Parish Church, including Youth. Erica will compile notes from the groups and share the major themes and trends with the board and staff to help make decisions. The board and staff will not be part of these meetings, they are engaged in their own separate process with Erica. Please join us! Childcare will be provided, though it is bring your own lunch.

Registration is Open for our Annual Summer Retreat
The Building Bridges retreat is an all-ages, light-hearted, and inclusive seven-day conference grounded in Unitarian Universalist values. We celebrate diversity, freedom of exploration, and a sense of wonder. Our mission is to forge and strengthen the connections between our families and conferees-new and old.
All are welcome to join us as we spend a week enjoying the beauty of Star, connecting and/or reconnecting with our faith, ourselves, and each other in the beautiful natural setting of Star Island, located off the coast of New Hampshire.
Building Bridges strives to have something for everyone, and we encourage folks to participate as much or as little as they would like. We also offer youth programming for all ages, infants through young adults, in the morning. We also offer childcare for kids 0-5 in the afternoons.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Chris and April Rosario, Dave LaBrie, or Lori McNally, who are part of the Building Bridges Leadership team.
