THE LAST SUNDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANY

Image Credit: details from Raphael’s Transfiguration (1516-20)
Dear Friends,

This Sunday we welcome The Rev’d Dr. Arthur Boers as our guest presider and preacher. We also have our Ash Wednesday service at 7:00 p.m. on February 22nd and we will welcome The Venerable Alan T. Perry as our guest presider.  And a reminder there will be no Bible Study held on Ash Wednesday.

In case of a pastoral emergency, such as a death in the family, please contact the The Rev'd Canon Janet Read-Hockin, priest at St. Cuthbert's 416-648-1418.

We also have an update from Megan to share. Megan’s surgery went smoothly and as expected on Tuesday morning. Her initial recovery took a little longer than expected, so Megan was discharged on Wednesday evening rather than Wednesday morning.  She is now recovering at home. Thanks for all the good wishes, encouragement, and prayers.

All the best,

Alison

GROOVE ROOM

We had around 40 people attend last Friday's Groove Room. Highlights were an 8 year old Elvis impersonator, a first time performance by a parishioner, a singalong of some old time songs and a Persian Love Cake and Valentines cookies.

Don't miss the next Groove Room on Friday April 14th!

Groove Rooms are presented on the 2nd Friday of the month. Our previously recorded Virtual Groove Rooms will continue to be available for viewing ONLINE.on our Groove Room You Tube channel.

The Groove Room is always looking for new performers. Don't be shy - come on out and play. Invite any musical friends to come out and play. It is a very supportive venue that is especially kind to first time performers. For more information please contact Mike Rapson at music@saintaugustine.ca

God of peace and justice,
we pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow,
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or peace,
for wisdom, discernment, and compassion to guide their decisions.
Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Amen.

From Archbishops Justin Welby and Stephen Cottrell

Weekly Bulletin Announcements
Prayer Requests:  It is helpful for the prayer leaders to have names and requests in advance - please direct them to the church office early in the week if possible. Last minute requests may be added on Sundays to the list at the back of the worship space.

Church offerings:  Thanks to all who are keeping up with their regular offerings.  Please be advised that regular PAR donations are encouraged because they reduce accounting work for volunteers and provide a predictable stream of income. You can also donate online from our website, by clicking HERE

Egg Cartons and Used Postage Stamps: The food bank is always in need of empty egg cartons to replenish them with fresh eggs. Used postage stamps are collected to support the Leprosy Mission. Both items can be left on the table in the Narthex.

Spoken Eucharist Service: The next 8:30 a.m. service will be held on Sunday, March 5th, 2023.

Church Office:  The church office will be closed on Monday, February 20th for the Family Day long weekend and will re-open at 10am on Tuesday.
