Thanks to those neighbors who joined us at the Gold game last Monday!
We hope to see even more neighbors at our hot chocolate bar and warming station this afternoon on your way to Paint the Park!

Downtown Grand Rapids Inc.
What’s new: The City is embarking on a Community Master Planning process. The goal is to engage as many Grand Rapidians as possible to gather new perspectives and input from the diversity of people that call this place home.
Why it matters: Your experience informs the experiences of future generations! When you think about the things needed for your best life, what comes to mind? What can we do today to ensure that those things are easily accessible for everyone who calls this City home in the future?
As neighbors living Downtown, you understand - more than anyone else - what is needed to live here. Think about access to resources, amenities, services and what you’d like to see here that is missing today.
These launch events are a way for you to bring your ideas together with others and help lay the foundation for the City’s future.
Yes, but: It’s also important to recognize that these processes take time. The collection, synthesis and prioritization of ideas is expected to take two years.
While it might feel like things are moving slowly, know that every idea, comment and suggestion contributes to a welcoming and diverse place for everyone to call home.
Dig deeper: As the Master Plan takes shape, City priorities will adjust as well. Grand Rapids utilizes Boards & Commissions comprised of City stakeholders to provide input on decisions and review programs, including policy recommendations to the City Commission.
Not seeing an event that should be listed? Let me know.

Our brief warm weather spell melted all of the Valent-ICE sculptures this past week, but last weekend there was ice all over town! Hopefully you caught the live ice carving at Rosa Parks Circle or enjoyed a frosty beverage at the Downtown Market's ice bar!
