ED RUSCHA. AND THE PLEASURE OF READING ED RUSCHA. THERE IS ONLY ONE COPY OF THIS MOST MAGICAL BOOK SIGNED BY THE ARTIST HIMSELF ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW AND YOU ARE LOOKING AT IT. HELLO!
[scroll down for the Lost In Translation paper]

Published in 2012. Since when the cover has been coolly classic. Kind of Magritte or Fornasetti in its self-referencing simplicity. We REALLY like it.

Mr Edward Ruscha and just some of the many artist's books he produced in various small editions. This book On Reading presents page by page reproductions of 16 of them, published between 1962 and 1978. It is, as a result, essential.

Pages from the IDEA favourite Hard Light, a photo-novella that doubles as one of the great seventies fashion references. On Reading is a rare and valuable book, whichever way you look for it. But this copy... is singular in its scarcity.

Because it is signed. And because no other copies (to be found on sale right now) are. The Ed Ruscha book about Ed Ruscha books signed by Ed Ruscha. Yes, please! And you can buy it on the button below.

That WOULD BE Perfection AND I Am Perfect For IT!

EVEN BETTER. OF THE SIXTEEN BOOKS FEATURED IN ON READING, WE DO HAVE THREE IN STOCK...

Los Angeles: 1967. First edition. Signed by Edward Ruscha on the first blank page. Cream coloured covers in spiral binding. A collaboration between Ed Ruscha, Mason Williams and Patrick Blackwell in which they painstakingly document dropping a standard office-model Royal typewriter from a speeding Buick in the desert. One of 1,000 copies originally printed. It's worn - but not worn out :)

Real Estate Opportunities. 1970 first edition. One of our favourite Ed Ruscha books on account of the fact that we do quite fancy a move to Los Angeles.

Records. 1971 first edition. Published by Heavy Industry Publications. Softcover. Red card covers. Perfect. Really.

These three books (and one more recent) on the red button below.
