You can find the PDF of the information presented in early February here. It was a helpful presentation and it highlighted the main problem with the SMP, which is that residential use along shorelines is given preference and is exempted from some requirements. This is what's causing the damage along the White Salmon and accounts as well for damage along the Klickitat. If you comment on only one thing, make this that one thing.
The Planning Commission, now up to speed, will have an information session on February 23. The purpose of this session is to provide information to the Planning Commission, some of whom are familiar with the SMP and some of whom are not very familiar. This session will cover a lot more ground than the PDF, and we encourage you to attend in person, if possible. There's a Zoom option, but recent experience with Planning Commission Zoom meetings has not been good. The audio is poor and it's hard to know who is speaking, However, if that's your best option, do attend. Presumably you will be able to hear the Planning Department presentations. Comments and questions from the commissioners may also help determine where to focus our comments.
